I'm gonna quote Denthúl here:

Could people stop the fighting? On the rare occasions I create a thread, I do it for discussion, not for people to throw insults at each other. It's frustrating.

Amen, bro.

Some people here can't carry a civilized discussion to save their lives. This is a pretty cool forum, but some people's attitudes are killing it recently. The fanatics (from all teams), the trolls...Good grief, you start reading an interesting thread and in less than nine posts it turns into poo-flinging. Insults, name-calling, twisting facts...You name it, it's there.

To those of you who act like this, please show some respect to your fellow forum members. Every thread is being turned into a drama thing. Let's keep this place to a higher standard. My recommendation to the mods, I personally think you'll have to be more strict and start banning people, if necessary.

Take this in a good way, please. I just want this place to be better every day.

I am quite prepared to engage in debate with people who do not share my beliefs and opinions. I have several times just left discussions where I believe that I still had something valid to say, but where the atmosphere was becoming a bit argumentative.

But there are limits. I will not shut up and just let hate speech by without comment. This is not negotiable.

One thing is good, solid debate. Another thing entirely are insults, baseless remarks, and just plain trolling. And I'm not directly accusing anyone of it either.

We all have to think about how we handle ourselves here and change accordingly.

This just comes with the territory. Its a sports forum, sports are competitive and people are passionate about sports teams and participants. Disputes are healthy imo and the manner in which people choose to take part in these disputes should be seen as a reflection on their own character rather than the spirit of the forum.

TBH I think there is a lot of passion about F1 and the Mods/Admin on here do a good job. but it is like the police they can not be everywhere all the time. At the end of the day, we are all adults and should act as such!

I agree, but when you're sharing space with a group of people, you should show respect. I love passionate discussions like anyone else, but never to the point where I become rude, insulting, or just infantile and blind.

Like I said, this is a great place, but there are a few bad apples.

I agree on that. By the way, I'm not ragging on the mods, but I do see some bad repeat offenders here. This is all in good spirit--I come to this forum every day.

I agree. These pathetic and petty fights were why I left the BBC 606 forum. It's immature and nonsensical. Everyone is entitled to their favourites whether it be Ferrari, McLaren, BMW or whoever, but why some F1 fans follow the football fan mentality in hating every other team and driver, or even hating one specific other team I will NEVER know. As the OP said, fanatical is a good way to put it, and it's childish.

You think this job is easy  ! What the forum members need to do is learn how to communicate openly without getting offended.

I had exactly the same problem with 606. Full of idiots. Some very intelligent people, but mostly idiots. :/

I know it's not easy. And my apologies if it sounded like that--it's just that I see the same troublemakers over and over in every thread and it gets frustrating.
