I've decided to set up a forum racing game, as explained below.
Season
Each season will consist of 18 race days, with the names taken from the 2008 F1 calender. Each race day will consist of a Sprint Race and a Feature Race.
Sprint Race
The Sprint race will start at a certain time, which I will post in this thread before hand. It will be signaled as:
Australian Sprint Race Starts at 16:35 GMT, lasting 15 minutes
and all starts will be done to the nearest minute.
The first eight players to post 'finish' after the start will win points as follows.
1st- 12 points
2nd- 9 points
3rd- 7 points
4th- 5 points
5th- 4 points
6th- 3 points
7th- 2 points
8th- 1 point.
The race will last for a length of time, which will be stated with the start time. Once it has ended, no one can finish, even if spots are empty.
NOTE: Players false starting (posting finish before the time), players finishing after the time limit, and players posting finish after the top 8 will be disqualified from that race, and the following race.
The Feature Race
The feature race will happen after the Sprint Race, and will be anounced, with for example:
Start Australian Feature Race
The first 12 players to post 'finish' after the start will win points as follows:
1st- 16 points
2nd- 13 points
3rd- 11 points
4th- 9 points
5th- 8 points
6th- 7 points
7th- 6 points
8th- 5 points
9th- 4 points
10th- 3 points
11th- 2 points
12th- 1 point
Players posting finish after the first 12 will be DSQed from the following race.
There will be one Sprint and one Feature Race per day. Standings for teams and players will be posted after each race. At the end of the season, the complete standings and some other stats will be posted, as will the identity of the next host.
Joining
To join, simply post ## join XXX team. Teams must be current or former F1 constructors, and there are 2 players per team.
The season will start when there are at least 12 full teams.
Rules
Please do not post how many places there are left until the end of the race. Offenders will be DSQed from the following race.
If someone hasn't raced for 4 Race Days, they can be replaced by either posting ## replace XXX person or ## join YYY team.
