So with 35 days left until the first race, whose your winter testing suprises?? I know winter testing is all about sandbagging so the other guy doesn't know what you have but looking at BMW, they made a big leap compared to last year. By all accounts, the drivers are extremely confident in the new car because it reacts to setups the way its planned to be, they had very few mechanical issues this winter, KERS is all set and ready to go, and the car has been pretty quick on simulation runs. McLaren has been extremely quit, maybe they have a suprise up their sleeves, Ferrari looks like they are lacking behind a bit and of course all the usual suspects (Toyota, Honda, Williams, etc..) are where they are supposed to be. Counting down the days-35 days

you cant be calling the winter championship already surely....some teams have barely tested yet...mclaren has only had 2 of its 5....its far too early

Like I SAID in my post, winter testing is all about sandbagging, but based on what we've seen so far, whose made the progress and who didn't, not talking about championship surely :banghead:

The main surprise for me is that all the teams appear to be relatively closely matched so far, yet they've all taken different design routes (some more extreme than others!).

I'm not going to take anything with a pinch of salt at the moment, even if Pat Symonds and De La Rosa think that Williams are going to be the surprise and even if the Renault looks embarrasingly slow at the moment. It's kind of like pre-season friendlies in Football.
