Welcome

Ferrari - Are they Blagging about struggling with KERS
McLaren - have been very coy about what they have for next year
Williams - not heard much
Renault - will be ok as long as Alonso keeps pushing them
Toyota - not heard much
Red Bull - first car tast is gonna be late, is that because they do not want to show there hand or they are struggling?
Torro Rosso - gonna go backwards without Burgher and Vettle
Force India - Engine and Box should be good, lefts hope the chassis is not like a jelly mold with lolly pop wings
Honda/Whoever - Spent a long time developing the car however how much will they be bothered over the last few weeks to build it
BMW - again spent a long time developing the car

Suppose the one that will make most headlines will be BMW IMHO. Unless ex-Honda have kept the momentum up

I think BMW will make more headlines for if their car is anything like their front wing that looks like it had been made by the Top Gear presenters in a "how hard can it be?" challenge.

People have been saying for several years now that Toyota, Williams, Red Bull and Renault are capable of springing surprises; so if any of them do fairly well next season, I'm not sure it can really be called a surprise.

I'd be genuinely surprised if Williams excels next year - even if their car was great, their drivers are not really and they lack experience in race craft running in front of the field.

Don't be surprised if Red Bull win the first 3 races and then drift off into the sunset. :D

In my opinion, me being Mystic Meg, Red Bull are gonna have a poor first half to the season if the car is going to be released in March. But then again Newey/Willis might just have something up their sleeve.

To be fair to Williams, they still have some good personnel at the team, so if their car is half decent, I don't think they would be completely out of their depth. I wouldn't completely write off their drivers as well. I agree with what you imply about Nakajima, but I would still regard Rosberg as one of the more-talented drivers in Formula One. Talking more generally about Williams, in my view, as I've said before, 2009 is a key year for the team. They must make significant progress. The team and its fans have been saying that with reduced importance on aerodynamics etc. they stand a good chance of doing well. Personally, I'm pretty sceptical, certainly after all of the false dawns. Williams is a legendary marque, so I really, desperately hope they get themselves sorted. At the moment, it feels as though we are watching the final act of Williams' tragic fall.

So bottom line: even you'd have to admit that it would be surprising if they excelled next year

I usually have pretty firm opinions on most things, but in this case I'm not entirely sure what to think. I suppose it's more likely than not that Williams won't make the leaps forward they and their fans have been saying, but if it did happen I would not be completely surprised. Another factor to consider is the depth of Williams' pockets. Let's say they produce a car that is good out of the box. The team doesn't have the cash to develop their car over a season in the same way McLaren, for instance, can. And, even if they managed that feat, they'd be sacrificing the following season. So, if Williams 2009 car was competitive in Australia, I would not expect it to still be competitive come Abu Dhabi.

I bet Nick Fry wishes he never sacked Willis just as Honda's 2006 car was coming good.

Hopefully for Red Bull's sake Webber's absence whilst recovering from his broken leg won't hamper the development of the car. Vettel's no stranger to Red Bull equipment afterall.
