Juan Pablo Montoya has confirmed he has received and turned down offers to return to Formula One.

The 33-year-old Colombian left the category in the middle of a difficult season with McLaren in 2006, after a promising earlier career that netted him seven wins.

Now settled in America's premier NASCAR series, Montoya insists he is "not interested in returning to F1".

"I am very happy in the US, and so is my family. Truthfully, it has never gone through my head to go back to Formula One.

"What's more, even if McLaren or Ferrari wanted me, I would not go:bs: ," he said in an interview with the Spanish news agency EFE.

It is suggested that Toro Rosso, and perhaps other teams, have been in contact with Montoya since he switched codes.

"I rejected these offers," he confirmed. "I'm not interested."

F1 rejected Montoya if I remember correctly

It was pretty much well known that he got fed up by F1, already in 2005. His last season with Williams didn't go too well, that walrus nose car was a dog...
Also his hot-headed-ness didn't fit in well to the McLaren corporate style.
He got used to Nascar now, I'm watching Nascar ever since he joined, and from next year it seems like he's gonna be in one of the strongest team (finally!)!

hahaha, I guess if Max and Bernie's ideas will be implemented, F1 will slowly become less than Nascar in every aspect!:twisted:

Well actually I do miss JPM in F1, he was one of the players who always brought some excitement into the dull world (doesn't apply anymore since at least 2 seasons :D ) of F1.

Hahaha, good one! I don't want to diss him, but he's a bit "big" for F1 :D

If your trying to claim Nascar is better than F1, your in the wrong place. Firstly nascar is only popular in America, whilst F1 is worldwide. Secondly, watching a bunch of V8 soapboxes run round in circles for too long, verus the madness 2008 and the most amazing season finale. I think we know deep down which sport is plain better.

I think JPM is kinda like Lewis, in terms or aggression. Montoya's move on Schumacher in Brazil 2001 in only his 3rd race, reminds me of Lewis pulling on over on Alonso. Only thing is JPM is hot-heated, whilst Lewis is calm and collected. Really Montoya needed to sort himself out, and he never did, he simply left, and I doubt we'll ever see him again.
His loss

I think he means too big for the car, not too big for the sport.

Wait a minute dude, maybe I was not clear enough. Didn't say Nascar is better than F1, cause you can't compare the two racing categories.
The philosophy behind Nascar is more like entertainment for the masses. About JPM being "big" I meant he's too heavy compared to F1 drivers. Just look at Nigel Mansell, he couldn't continue his career in F1 cause he was too big too :D

+1 :D
As you said, hot-headed! He's like that in Nascar too.
