From F1 Live:

Takuma Sato later this month will test for Toro Rosso for the second time.

Following the former Grand Prix driver's maiden outing with the Faenza-based team at Jerez earlier this year, the Japanese has now been confirmed for the Barcelona test in mid November.

It is believed that Bruno Senna, to already be at the Spanish venue for his Honda run, will also be in action for the Ferrari-powered team, as will fellow 2009 race seat contender Sebastien Buemi.

Rubens Barrichello has also been linked with the partly Red Bull-owned team for 2009.

The news of 31-year-old Sato's test was not confirmed by Toro Rosso, but by the veteran’s management on Friday.

"We are extremely happy to announce that Takuma will be testing for Toro Rosso in Barcelona on 17-18 November," a brief statement read.

The statement added that Toro Rosso is "yet to decide (its) driver line up for the 2009 season."

Sato debuted in 2002 with Jordan, and subsequently raced for BAR and Super Aguri before the latter team folded after this year's Spanish Grand Prix.

I wonder if they'll wait to see what happens with Barichello...

Toro Rosso need to keep Bourdais, if he is dropped for Sato that would be one of the stupidest team choice selections in the history of Sport itself.

I hope Senna gets a race seat and not Buemi, all Buemi has going for him is his Red Bull backing, nothing else.

My preferred choice for STR next season would be Bourdais and Senna. Hopefully Bourdais stays and Senna takes the empty seat vacated by Vettel.

I'm thinking the sooner Senna get's a ride the better strictly because we all know how F1 team's consider the age of a driver. If he is not ready for a full drive next season atleast a test driver's position would be more helpful to him right? I cannot even fathom how much the worldwide F1 fan's and promoter's want to see the Senna name back in F1, the impact would be immense imho. If Ayrton believed in Bruno's natural talent and speed that is good enough for me  !!

If he gets a drive too early, though, then he could quite easily ruin his career.

I dont mind Sato, i quite like him actually.

Anybody Know whats happened to Anthony Davidson? Is he still testing at Honda or have they got rid?

Unfortunately, he seems to have disappeared off the face of the Earth. Which is a shame, because he's very talented.

I like Sato I think he could have a great F1 career but between him and Davidson I would say Davidson would deserve the STR seat more but hopefully Bourdais will still be there because he definately deserves the race seat.

Torro Rosso should keep Bourdais and bring in some experience with Barrichello if he leaves. Senna in the test driver role. He can learn there then get a race seat for 2010.

He was alright but he didn't really best sato enough to suggest he would have a chance at getting a seat.

A season plus four races as opposed to the five seasons plus four races of Sato is something to keep in mind, and he would not have been so out-scored by Sato had he not hit the groundhog in Canada. I think he did quite well and, had he not been in such a bad car, would probably have been far more impressive. He has several better qualities than Sato to begin with, the main one of these being his speed and consistency as opposed to the rather fast but erratic nature of Sato.

I think Davidson did a solid job considering everything. Strangely, you have to factor in that Super Aguri had team orders to benefit Sato - in fact the whole team was created for him! So, Davidson was never going to be allowed to challenge his teammate or get upgrades for the car and strategy preference over Sato.
