I've not got the issues with him that a lot of people have and I've never been critical but although Lewis and his dad have a lot to be proud of is this the time for him to let go and let his boy be his own man?

I'm very proud of Lewis's dad because he is a huge factor in Lewis's success, IMO of course  . Although I have mentioned before I think it would be in the best interest of Lewis to get a real, tried and true, manager.

Agree with 8Ball. Anthony takes alot of stick for looking out for his sons best interests. Ive no problem with him .

I agree with 8ball too, i think Anthony has given up so much to help Lewis, and they have got this far together - with so much success.

Anthony has helped Lewis become what he is today without Anthony, Lewis proboboly would'nt have been in motorsport because of all the sacrifices Anthony made such as getting a lot more jobs to pay for Lewis' karting.

i think its great that his lewis and dad stick together its a pity more kids don`t do more things with there parents. i wish i had with mine.

I don`t ever see the press etc commenting on massa`s parents always being there.

I don't think Hamilton should push away his dad. Anthony Hamilton has made a lot of sacrifices for his son, so it would be completely ungrateful. That said, there are times when you think that if Hamilton had somebody professional working for him, a lot of the media gaffes etc. would not have happened. Hamilton should keep his dad on board, but he needs to drop into the background a little bit more and accept he needs professional help on a couple of matters.

What matters are those? If it's anything that has happened already they can simply be learnt from.

i think he is a top bloke! he has sacrificed so much for lewis, and i dont think lewis would be the same without him around. i think lewis should be very proud of his dad , likewise his dad him. i know i definatly dont have that relationship with mine. mayb stepping down manage wise would be a good idea maybe it wouldnt but he has definatly done alot for lewis.

Have you not seen, for instance, some of the media gaffes Hamilton has made in the last couple of years. A professional manner would have seen to it those things never happened.

Yes he made a couple of iffy decisions but so what, he is very young and flung into an arena that is a far cry from the environment he grew up in, it hasnt harmed him. If he wins more championships he's going to make billions from his image and most likely be the highest paid sportsperson ever. So why does he need someone else to manage him?
