It looks a pretty good track, but all Bernie will see in this track is the shiny plastic stands, the large roomy posh media centres, garages that look more like living rooms, ultra-safe run off areas and all the shiny glistening catering facilities, the padded seats in the stands, the complimentary Champagne bucket in the VIP suites and the Toilets that will forever look like nobody's used them yet.

It looks like a typical Tilke circuit. He's got a ruler and protractor and pretty much linked straight lines together. From the map anyway, there looks to be a couple of places where overtaking might happen and its looks pretty technical. I wonder how empty the grandstands will be on race day.

"the complimentary Champagne bucket in the VIP suites"

Er... filled with sparkling non alcohol fruit juice. It's a Muslim country. Public consumption of alcohol (esp at sports grounds) is strictly prohibited.

I'm going to be cynical and predict style over substance in this case.

I will not judge until race day. I made the mistake this year thinking Valencia was going to be an awesome race, but it turned out to be the worst race of the year.

The general rule of thumb with new F1 circuits is "if Tilke designed it it's probably terrible". So Valencia being bad was no surprise to me and the same goes for Singapore a procession race if ever I saw one.

It looks like a cool track. its a hybrid half street, half conventional circuit! I like it, hope it produces good racing

This. And as a season finisher? Come on, if you want a close race and another season like this year's then you should put closing races in countries where there are fans, where the "old" tracks are. Brazil was great, there were tons of people there.

I read somwhere that the track goes thru/under the main hotel....

So does that mean the track was built in its car park like the old Las Vegas Grand Prix held in Caesar's Palace car park?
