Did any of the detractors notice that team-mates Glock and Trulli posted almost exactly the same time on the final lap? (1m 40 ish) Indicating that they were BOTH struggling with grip? Did McLaren ask Toyota to slow BOTH of their drivers down on the final lap, even though Trulli was in 8th, just incase?

Just a thought!

Congrats to Massa and Lewis, and Ferrari and Mclaren, and also Vettel for showing his class, that boys gonna be a champion you can just see it.

Or was it the fact that Glock struggled for Grip and Trulli realised there was nothing to fight for.
Just a hunch i had.

My days.

This will go in one ear and out the other for the more vociferous I'm afraid. It's embarrassingly obvious to those of us, of any perspective or bias, what was happening and that it didn't involve any underhandedness.

Ithink some of you may have misread what i said, which i might add was laced with a MASSIVE AMOUNT of blatant irony . . . . . :)

i didnt realise i was being so SUBTLE !!

I`ll rephrase.

Both Toyotas pulled the same time in the last lap, which means to me that since they were both on the same tyres, they simply had no grip. And since it wasnt only Glock that slowed down, the argument that McLaren were in cahoots is complete arsemongering nonsense.

Don't worry, I gotcha too. I think there's a little too much celebration going on behind the keyboards tonight.

Next year is gonna be really exciting, i think we can guarentee Ferrari being strong, but which other team can we hand on heart say is going to be competative? I think McLaren / Renault / BMW / and maybe even Honda are gonna be ALOT more level. I suppose time will tell . . . . .i predict a massive reshuffle in the standings.

Yup. Ferrari and McLaren up there as usual. Renault (the one driven by Alonso anyway) will be challenging for the WDC imo. If the time taken over the '09 Beamer has been put to good use then with Kubica and Heidfeld on form - they could even challenge seriously, and not just in spirit, for the WCC.

I've thought/hoped for big things from the Japanese manufacturers for so long that I'm not gonna hold my breath.

On a slight sidenote - I wonder if Vettel isn't going to an inferior car (based on nothing but ignorance and a seemingly better setup with the Torro Rosso this season) at Red Bull next season.

I dont think Gloke could of done much. As soon as he pushes hard he would of ended up spining (like Lewis in Spa) or crashing into the wall (like Kimi in Spa). Lewis and Kimi are better drivers than Gloke too.

In the end he had to take it very carefully (like Hamilton on the last lap in Spa) because that is the only possible way to stay on the tracks with those tires in really wet conditions. If Gloke pushed to keep fourth place I am 100% sure he would of ended up crashing. Instead he cut his losses and took a respectable sixth.

Hamilton was fully expecting to pick up that place it just seemed like it wasn't going to happen because the viewer doesn't recieve the information they do in the garage. We were told that Hamilton blew it and saw pictures of Massa's family and friends celebrating what they thought was a win. In reality the coverage that the spectators (including their families and friends) was watching was slow to pick up on the fact that using dries in really wet conditions = losing 20 - 30 seconds each lap (depending on what circuit). So we were basically badly mis-informed that Lewis had blown it. When looking back at the information provided in the McLaren garage at the time it was always probable he would pick up fifth spot.
