I woke up this morning and mom was no where to be found but her vehicle was still in the garage so I figured she went to breakfast with friends. I called her cell and our friend Tammy answer's and tell's me my mom is in the hospital  ! Apparently she was sick all night and was worried enough to call an ambulance to take her to the hospital. I was like WTF why did she not wake me up but then I realized that mom's being mom's dont want to worry their children but I'm still PO'd about it. Apparently after calling the ambulance she called Tammy to meet her at the hospital.

My mom is a non-stop person alway's doing something and it seem's it may be catching up with her. She is 67yr's old, still works fulltime and then comes home and goes back to work so to speak, she has the drive and energy of someone 20yr's her junior. What worries me the most is she has been a 2 pack a day smoker for as long as I can remember.

Here is a pic of my mom, she is at the lower left, sitting next to Myra her youngest sister and next to Myra is Marilyn the second oldest of the eight kids. That is my uncle Marvin up top next to his wife Gena on his right and on his left is my grandmothers youngest sister and one of her daughters.

So anyway nobody can see her right now not even me and she is being admitted for further test and observation. I have made alot of what I consider to be true friends here on the forum although we have never met so I felt compelled to share with everyone and ask for your prayer's. :):(

Thank's Chris I knew you would be one of the first to reply  and I truelly appreciate that. I think she has been needing a full checkup for sometime now anyway so that is one positive thing. No one can see her at the moment so that is why I'm at the house still and trying to calm down. When I first found out I was a wreck and shaking because of the initial shock so I'm here trying to think more positive and get myself together.

Thank you mate,
Gregg

Ps,
Saw the new replies while posting and want to say thank you everyone :grouphug: .

Hey yall just thought I would give ya an update. It turn's out my mom had a Ischemic stroke which was caused by her off the chart high blood pressure. I had to findout by one of our close family friends that my mom was on medication for high blood pressure which mom failed to let me know about. It made her feel bad so she on her own accord reduced her intake by 50% and then stopped taking it all together. :banghead:

So even though she is still in the ICU she is giving orders as usual which is a great sign. We do not believe there will be any paralysis because she can move everything just fine but is weak and her equalibrium is still just a tad off. So that is where we stand at the moment.

Well, it's kind of good news and bad news. It's terrible that she's had a stroke, but she's very lucky that it seems minor - relatively speaking. I hope she gets better before long.

Hi Tex, sorry it took me so long to post in here. I'm glad your mother isn't in as bad condition as she was previously, but I hope she pulls through and that she gets well soon without any paralysis.

All the best for yourself and your mother mate. :)
