Indeed. The time does seem a little bit too good. Still, we all know Stefan Bellof got round the track in 6:11. Why don't they just try and beat that? :D

I don't know, didn't it get round the Top Gear track faster than a Carrera GT? That must show that it's no slouch!!

they tested an American Version. i doubt it has the same specs as the JDM GTR to meet American Emission standards.

You are correct bud and that seem's to one of the big issue's. Another issue that has arisen is that the GTR was not on stock option tires?

Here is a little snipit from another source:

'A nice comparison in the upcoming issue of italian Quattroruote, to be released by the end of the month. The test driver is Alain Prost.

There are already some unofficial results and GT-R haters will be very happy.

Vairano track :

Scud - 1:15,1s
GT2 ~ 1:15,2s (allegedly "very close")
LP560 - 1:15,6s
GT-R ~ 1:19s

Prost was allegedly not satisfied with the GT-R handling and couldnt believe this car can lap the Ring in 7:29.

0-1000m took the GT-R about 22 seconds.

Take it with a grain of salt as these results are not official. We gotta wait.
'

Although I have read test result's from various track's with the GTR beating it's rival's all those test are to be taken as mentioned above with a 'grain of salt' also. I do not doubt that the GTR is an awesome car but I am having doubt's about some of the test result's.

thats the assumption of the Porsche team that they didnt test with radial tyres

but like i said the Porsche team also tested the US version and not the Japanese.

i will like to see what Nissan have to say about these accusations before i condemn them.

I agree and I'm not sure if we will ever know the truth but for myself I would rather have a GTR than any Porsche. I've driven several Porsche 911 series and unless one has a size 8 or smaller in foot size, and can get used to having their left foot almost inline with their right shoulder I could not justify the cost of a P car.

Has anybody taken a Veyron around the Nurburgring yet?
#69345
Just wait for the V-spec GT-R, then we'll be laughing!

I have heard that around a track a Porsche Carrera GT is faster than a Veyron, but on the normal roads a Veyron is the absolute king. What is my source on that, i hear you ask? A chap called Pierre-Henri Raphanel. And he should know that sort of thing...

how can it be, the normal roads have speed limits so a Toyota Prius is as fast as a Veyron on the streets
Tracks where it counts

disclaimer - the above comment takes into account the German Autobahn which is not classed as a normal road in the world of bud - he wishes it was a normal road and were in every country where he could drive as fast as he wanted without the worry of the po po
