Brilliant drive to a well deserved,if a little lucky, victory.

I count that's 5 teams and 7 drivers scored a win so far this season.

Alonso did well today. His victory may have been a little bit lucky, but he was unlucky yesterday with his car clapping out, so nobody can begrudge him this victory. He's also tied joint 11th on the all-time winning list with the brilliant Mika Hakkinen.

Yeah but you need luck.
Vettel needed it in Monza, if his had escaped him Hamilton would probably have won.
Same even with Hamilton - he could so easily have been taken out in Monaco when he struck the barrier or his tyre deflate if the race had ran one more lap.

Just goes to show you. Everyone needs a bit of luck, yet it shouldn't take away anything from their ability.

As for the win level - no disrespect to Hakkinen. But If he gets the car under him, Id love to see Alonso climb further up the table. It is very realistic that he can leapfrog at least Jackie Stewart.

1 Schumacher, Michael 91
2 Prost, Alain 51
3 Senna, Ayrton 41
4 Mansell, Nigel 31
5 Stewart, Jackie 27
6 Lauda, Niki 25
= Clark, Jim 25
8 Fangio, Juan Manuel 24
9 Piquet, Nelson 23
10 Hill, Damon 22
11 Häkkinen, Mika 20
= Alonso, Fernando 20

I like Alonso. He's the best all-round driver in the championship. I was disappointed when he left McLaren last year, but, sadly, there really wasn't a way he could remain part of the team.

I rate him as a driver and was pleased he had the win today, he deserved that. I was going to say .. ..'but I cant forgive his behaviour last year', I guess I must have done a bit though else I wouldnt have been pleased to see him win. He wont ever be a favourite though.

Lewis of course.
With Kubica second (as a driver, though not keen on him as a guy)
Vettel is growing on me
Massa is sweet (despite him being in contention with Lewis cant help but feel a bit sad wnen he has misfortunes)
