From F1 Live:

Jarno Trulli has been fined 10,000 Euros after a visit to the stewards' office on the first day of action under the lights in Singapore.

The Toyota driver broke the rules by driving the wrong way up the pit straight, and then performing a u-turn across the pit entry, following a spin in the first practice session.

Article 30.2 of F1's sporting regulations says drivers are 'strictly forbidden' from driving the wrong way around a circuit, 'unless this is absolutely necessary in order to move the car from a dangerous position'.

The Italian veteran also broke the regulation forbidding drivers from crossing 'the line separating the deceleration zone and the track'.

As well as the fine, stewards also gave him an official reprimand.

Very dangerous activities from Formula One's biggest gurn on matters of safety. :nono::rolleyes:

That was probably more wreckless than any piece of driving I'd ever seen Andrea De Crasheris do.

Ooof, that's a stupid thing to do. Yet again a miserably small fine is handed out for something pretty effing dangerous. They should start adding an extra '0' to these fines at least.

Ahhh, memories. I was racing Road Atlanta several years back and when I pulled from the cold pits onto pit lane one of the officials stepped in front of my car and pointed me to the right instead of the left..there were cars bunched up on the left (one died?) so he was trying to loop me back around the pits. Well, you don't drive the wrong way down the hot pits, we all know that but it was pre-race, there was nobody in that direction and an official told me too..so eventually I did as he asked. An avalanche of other officials jumped in front of my car, I got yelled at and later reprimanded and do you think that guy who pointed me wrong would stand up and admit it? Nope.

There was a happy ending though when at the end of the day I produced the in car video (camera on cage over my right shoulder) as well as video from a parked car showing very clearly the face of the guy who directed me the wrong way as well as his very animated point to the right when I indicated that left was the direction of travel (also on video). Rules state you always listen to the race marshals...always. That guy is a marshal no longer.

No idea why that popped in my head..I'm pretty sure Trulli wasn't told to do what he did. 10k euros...what is that, half a million dollars now?

Hey, it's the first Singapore GP and the first night-time GP, so why not add another first? Have half of the driver field drive the other way around. Direction switch only allowed during pit stops without refueling.
:yikes:
If this won't whip up the action, I don't know what could :whip::D

Well Lewis Hamilton better not try the same stunt as of course there is a conspiracy happening according to all the McLarenites around here, and so if Lewis Hamilton does this they'll make an exception the the 10,000 Euro fine. Instead they'll penalise him to a back 10 grid start penalty. :hehe:
