I would like to know if there are really any more fans of Fernando Alonso in the world. My ENTIRE family is in love with Hamilton, and sure I have no problem with him, but they just like himtoo much. I want to see someone else win or a change. Anyways, back to topic...

Sure, he might've acted very immature with the whole McLaren ordeal, but I still followed him from the start of his Renault career to where he is now. I'm curious to find out if he ends up next year in Renault, maybe Kubica and Alonso team at BMW? I don't know.

Basically, every time I have seen Alonso race this year, he always ultimately disappoints me in the end. Be it the Spanish when he qualified for second, and had an engine failure, or had a nice position in the German GP, only to lose 3 in the very end. I have still stuck with Alonso this far though, so might as well not stop now. Any other passionate Alonso fans?

Welcome mate :wavey: I like Alonso, but I'm more of a constructor supporter than a driver supporter. If you're a true Alonso fan, you stick by him through his ups and downs.

I think Alonso is an amazing driver and I also think he has matured alot since last year's fiasco soured his reputation so badly. Having said that I pay little or no attention to him nor do I support him but I do not wish him any bad luck.

I too am more interested in constructors. Its the whole team that wins or loses, not just the driver, as FA is now finding. A great driver he may be but his team has not given him the car to win with.
No driver is worth all this orgasmic adulation that I read about. All drivers have their strengths and weakness's, as do all of the other team members.
FA is, in my view, a very good, but not exceptional driver, he is excellent at car set up, but behaves like a spoiled brat so his personality must affect his driving and does him no favours with the public (unless they are Spanish).

He definately has my respect as a racer, and he's the best all-round driver on the grid.

Last season's events were unfortunate, but let's face it, the British press were always gonna make him seem like more of a bad guy than he was last season

I've always been a huge admirer or Alonso in a Renault . . . and especially for stopping MS from winning all the time!

I repect him as a racer, and really rated him all round till his ego reared its ugly head last year !!
He still manages to impress me when he is on form tho, and how i hate that !!!!

You don't sound quite as passionate as some Alonso fans that have posted here :p I'm not a fan but never had any problems whith him when he was at Renault but he changed when he went to Mclaren and although he wasn't innocent, the things that happened certainly weren't all his fault. Stick with your man and hope he gets a good car one way or another and IMO he's driven the wheels off the Reanault this year and has been unlucky not to have got more than he has.

If Alonso stay's with Renault and I hope he will they could very well be a force to be reckoned with next year. I'm really looking forward to the new car's/rule's next year.

Alonso is the best all-round driver on the grid and history will remember him as a very good champion. I don't see him being remembered in the same way somebody like Ayrton Senna will be however. Whilst I respect his driving, his personality leaves a lot to be desired. Even at Renault there were occasional rumbles of discontent.

Tbh, it was only after he left McLaren that I realised how much I love the guy. :banghead:

Nothing could be further from the truth my friend. Why is McLaren still at the front of the WDC? Why is McLaren ALWAY'S at the front of the pack?

Alonso is a great driver but he is not the 'holly grail' of current F1 driver's.
