congrats Piquet! what a drive, and what a great strategy. I never saw it coming?! Ive also changed my mind, Piquet is ready to stay at renault for next season! and im sure he will achieve more results like in germany. well done!

Twice luck: first he pitted just before the SC came out - perfect albeit lucky timing.
Second: FM had overheating brakes to deal with and was not in the position to mount a serious attack on him.
But, yes, good on him after all the badmouthing he had to endure.

This result on its own would not be enough to keep Piquet at Renault however, his form in the past four races has been much better than the earlier part of the season, even if he retired from Canada and Britain (overheating brakes and aquaplaning respectively). I think this will put his confidence up a notch and allow him to score more consistently from now on. Unless his team-mate spits his dummy out...

It was a lucky 2nd place, but so was some of his father's victories, especially Canada 1991 when Mansell was nearly a minute ahead and he stalled the car whilst waving to the crowd.

Not here in America because most live streams are not available outside Europe.

It was a good result for Piquet, despite some luck being involved. His performance in qualifying was still pretty shabby. His next few races will be interesting.

Lets not go crazy Piquet fans this race was a one hit wonder for him and that is his only podium of the season. But well done to him still :thumbup:

If Alonso leaves for Ferrari, you might see Renault slot into 2nd place on my favourite constructor's list. There is also a minute chance that they can become my faves. Nah - doubt it. You guys should have seen the sh!t I went through when I changed Chelsea 1st - Barcelona 2nd to the other way round. But I've been wanting this Nelson. I just really hate Alonso.

Even on my Formula one game on PSP, Alonso keeps putting me into the wall. I hate him. On Indianappolis when I was beating everyone by 2-3 seconds a lap I decided to slow down, with Fernando behind me in second. I let 3rd to 6th overtake me, and left Alonso in the back end of the points. But then I accidentally spun out a Ferrari and caused a 3 car pile up, and Alonso finished 3rd. I got a big DNF and turned off the game in rage.

Anyway, that was extremely off topic. But the Aussie spirit of supporting the undedog, i.e, Nelson Piquet, has been very strong since Monaco. (Shuddup... Okay I support Hamilton, which defies this spirit.) Anyway, Sutil for Renault '09! Sutil and Piquet. Wouldn't that be nice! :drink:

the best way to gauge his performance is against alonso's and where the hell was he? Luck had a lot to do with getting Piquet to the front of the pack but he had the pace to be up there and was posting pretty good times i hope we see more of this piquet in the future
