When I was a boy (a while ago now :crying: ) I never had to invert the controls on my various consoles. For example, in my mind pulling the lever down should make the character look up, not down. However, in the past few weeks I've found I've had to invert my controls in the options menu (even for flight sims - which is SOOO wrong IMHO).

So who inverts? And who is changing to the darkside?

Ive found that it depends on the game which term you use inverted for

i prefer the "flight control" layout,

pulling the toggle "stick" towards you is pulling up,

pushing it away is down

while the above some consider towards you as down and away from you as up.

i guess its what youre used to and feel comfortable with.

If the game has only 1 fixed controller setting, I can get used to whatever setting it has in a short while (for some reason, this 'while' becomes longer as I grow older)... but if I can choose, I use:

For flying or space craft... inverted look (up is down, down is up)
For shooters and so on... I like up is up, down is down.

I had the same thing, Steven, except that with a mouse. When I was younger I played with inverted Y axis, so when I moved the mouse down my character looked up (like in a plane). But a few years ago I suddenly could not play that way at all and I was even surprised how I could invert it in the first place. So, now I use the normal way.

The same thing happened to my brother - funny as he is a commercial pilot, and pulling the stick toward him should raise the plane - I'll never fly with him, that's for sure! ;)

No, I'm too used to a mouse for those kinds of games so up is up and down is down.
