Sir Jackie Stewart has reiterated calls for Max Mosley to resign as President of the FIA.
Mosley's position as the head of the FIA has become increasingly untenable after a tabloid published a lurid umpalumpa video of the 68-year-old.
However, three-time World Champion Stewart believes Mosley will cling onto power when the FIA's General Assembly votes on June 3.
"I have put a $100 bet with a friend that Mr Mosley wins the vote because he holds so much power and influence - too much for one man," Sir Jackie told The Telegraph.
"But big trees do sometimes blow over: it all depends on the strength of the wind."
The legendary driver, though, believes the 68-year-old Mosley is damaging motor sport's image.
"If he was the head of any other major federation or sporting body, or was the CEO or chairman of any corporation, he would already have had to stand down," he said.
"I believe Mr Mosley is doing untold damage to motor sport. He is destabilising the sport and threatening its commercial viability because multi-national corporations will not want to be associated with a sport whose president has brought it into disrepute in the manner that he has."
What Stewart says is correct. It was only yesterday that John Howett said the spy scandals of last season are putting people off from investing in Formula One, so Mosley's behaviour is bound to be having a similar effect. Like Stewart, I also have a feeling that Mosley may just cling on to power...
