This was my first time to Long Beach, and the last time driving there by myself. It was an awesome track, but an absolute pain in the bottom to get to (Thats why I hate going to LA)

Sadly enough I couldnt stay for the Sunday race but atleast I got to see and hear the champ cars one last time.

Anywho here are some pictures I took on Saturday. Sorry they're not the greatest because I'm more of a guy who would rather watch the cars then waste time taking pictures.

This is when I wandered in the pits to look at the DP01's one last time  It was kind of sad to see them one last time, but what made it worse was that they were all hidden in their tents.

I couldnt figure out if this was the factory vette because it had a wierd paint job, but I later found out it was a customer.

I cant remember the name of this Mazda. All I know is that its in LMP2.

... this is the only thing I hate about street courses. Its freakin hard to find a good place to take pictures of the cars on track without the fences, trees, signs, and whatnot in the pictures.

These were the best I could get of the DP01's in action. This is by turn 6.

Were you there tex?

Unfortunately I was not there but I just watched the race on TV. I hope to see the Ford GT challenging for podium's by next season as it is a great chassis and has posted equal if not better cornering g's than the Ferrari and Porsche in stock configuration.. It's just really nice to see Ford launch the new 'GT40' so to speak back into competition.

WTF.. Where are you watching these ALMS races.. I try and find them through cable and or TV guide on line with no listing. I go out to the alms sight and they don't even give you air times. How do you look up the schedules? Let me know Tex, and thanks :D

Long Beach GP will be on the schedule next year with the IRL yeah?

Oh yeah. The city of Long Beach signed a contract for the GP to go on through 2015. But the thing is though, they will be with the IRL cars if they dont change their chasis design and motor. I can care less about what the car looks like, but I just hope they bring back the turbo-charged engines (thats what Champ Cars use) rather then the naturally-aspirated Honda engines used in the IRL. I swear the champ cars sound SOOOO much better then the IRL cars, and look better too. But more then engine noise, I want the IRL to bring the road course-oval racing schedule at least 50-50. The lower the oval races the better, but if they dont change that then I wont even bother watching the IRL.
