I recently dusted off my copy of EA Sports' F1 2002 game, but one thing I never found out how to do when I played the game originally was how to edit the graphics.

All I want to be able to do is get the car and helmet graphics in a format where I can manipulate them in Paint and/or Photoshop, then be able to put them back in the game.

Any thoughts?

hmm im not sure but from my old times of playing geoff grammonds grand prix 3 you could download carsets and liverys and put them in certain folders maybe its the same for this game? have you looked it up online yet?

Found something called MAStudio2002 which does what I want.

Apparently F1 2002 uses ".mas" files, whereas I'm used to Microprose GP2/3 which uses ".jam"s and Grand Prix Legends which uses ".mip"s. They have to make it so complicated, don't they?

Anyway, I now have my own helmet design in the game, which is all I wanted to do for the moment... After a couple of years on 1967 cars in GPL i'm finding it hard enough to keep up with the 2002 vintage, never mind 2008!!!
