Shumi and Todt have been appointed to the Mosely inspired quango which will decide how McLarens 60 Mill fine will be spent.
Too much eh?
I know Norbet will be there but he just wants another burger/Berger as far as I'm concerned.
Now come on, I know this Mc/FIAt stuffs been flogged to death.... but. Was it not a FIAt employee who origanaly stole the information that McLaren was convicted of using?
I find the appointment of both Shumi and Todt a bloody insult.

I completely agree, its just obscene really that a governing body can be so openly corrupt, and for MM to say that he sees criticisms about him on sites like this and finds them amusing is also an insult. He knows that he is bullet proof and treats people with contempt unless they work for Fiat.

You and your Fiat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok then if you can't get it right and call it by its proper name Ferrari, then fine. At least weather it is Fiat or Ferrari, we will always hear the "INNO DI MAMELI" when the team wins. Now with McLaren what will happen when it becomes Mercedes Benz? :D:D:D Get used to the "LIED VON DEUTSCHLAND" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Or should we make a new hymm just for Mercedes-Benz to tell the McLaren people who is now in command. We can call that hymm the "Mercedes-Benz über Alles" or "Mercedes-Benz over all" Nuh lets keep it in German since all you'll be hearing everytime Mercedes-Benz wins is the Lied von Deutchland. hahahaha.

To be fair to Schumacher whatever I feel about him as a driver he does have experience of charitable work so when this is allied to his iconic status within the sport he's an obvious choice. He was one of the largest individual donors to the Boxing Day Tsunami appeal for example, to which he gave $10 million of his own money and worked with the German foreign ministry, and if you remember part of his punishment for his attempt to take Villeneuve out of the 1997 title decider was charitable work on road safety.

The money from McLaren's fine has been designated for work on safety within motorsport and given Todt's experience in several different forms of motorsport (rallying, sportscars and Formula 1) he is another useful member of this board. Norbert Haug has similarly got experience of various motor racing disciplines (Sportscar, DTM, F3, and Formula 1) so to regard him as simply a fat burger-chomping German is to do him a dis-service.

I really don't see what the problem is myself...

Me neither... although it does rub a little 'extra' salt into McClaren's wounds :lol:

It's not like schumi and todt are going to take the £50 million and line their bank accounts with it. If it is going to be used to improve driver safety it makes sense to have a driver on the board. In fact the only person that i can see that doesn't have any qualification or experience to be on the board is Max. But as he is the untouchable FIA president I guess that fact is superfluous

I heard Mosley was going to spend the money on a Poo firing machine and he was going to fire it at Ron Dennis everytime he dared to enter the pit lane.

They should just get it over with and make McClaren use cast iron tires so they would never be able to have the bare faced cheek to challenge those lovely red vroom vrooms. Ferrari should just be given the championship just for showing up, and given there own weight in Fizzy Cola bottles.

And thats my point. It's not about who is qualified, Hill could be on the board as could Stewart, but no it's a FIAt quango. Mosely must be the most arrogant sod if he thinks that these appointments are not an insult.

Here's something I found on the ITV site that amused me.

There're some things money can't buy

Constructors points McLaren lost last year – 203
Championships won in 2007 – 0
Cost of having an errant employee – $100 million

Michael Schumacher and Jean Todt among the folk now deciding how your $100 million fine should be spent.

Priceless

Ferrari will probably take all the money to pay for the teams pasta bills for this season

That would be a good thing as a tasty clam linguine or pasta alfredo w/garlic bread can 'calm the water's' for a communion of sort's :D !
