Ferrari won the Malaysian GP.

It is all about Ferrari winning.

Ferrari won that battle (with some casualties) but the war has only just started and I'm looking forward to some close quarter fighting in the coming engagements.

I must say that you're well and truly wrong. The best thing to have happened to the sport so far this season is having more than just the same four drivers (i.e. both Ferrari drivers and both McLaren drivers) on the podiums throughout the season. It's nice to have had BMW finish second in both races, and for the podium finishers this race to have been different to the Melbourne ones.

It would be bad for the sport if Ferrari won everything. Just look at 2000-2004. It was boring for the most part. In two of those years, Schumacher's only rival was Barrichello, who wasn't allowed to beat him! Where's the fun in watching that? What we need is for teams like BMW, Williams, Renault, Toyota and maybe even Red Bull and Honda to be up on the podiums a lot this year.

totally agree, it does not attract as many viewers if the same car is winning it every year. Obviously you're a soul-less Ferrari fan, but most people love to see an underdog winning. Also the arrival of Hamilton has definitely pushed up viewing figures in the UK. Can't speak for other countries, but I'm sure having such a variety of nationalities in drivers coming into F1 can only be a good thing. eg. I bet Kubica's presence has made a lot more Poles watch the sport. Also I think these new regulations banning TC etc. are fantastic, because everyone wants to see more overtaking (and minor crashing); excitement level goes up, viewing goes up. Oh, and the pit babes can't hurt

I must admit even I found this period boring.
I like it when Ferrari win but I prefer when there is a good fight right till the last race.

there were a couple of seasons there where it was a fight, ie 2000, 2003 but the ones where Ferrari caked walked it were pretty boring to watch especially if you were not a fan of theirs. But those years would have been alot easier to watch if Schumacher had a team mate that was capable and allowed to beat him

But it's true.

I found 2002 and 2004 total bore-fests and it wasn't just because Ferrari were always winning, I first started watching when McLaren totally dominated 1988 and it wasn't boring then, nor was the 90's in the years Williams totally dominated. What was boring during 2002 and the first race of 2004 which totally put me off F1 was the fact Barrichello wasn't allowed to fight for the Championship, he was clear number 2 and also track action was poor thanks to TC, driver aids and Mad Max's stupid ideas.

The banning of TC and engine braking is helping the excitement improve, but Sunday's crap race was a combination of bad results (from my point of view) the fact it's a Hermann Tilke track which has been made worse by the new asphalt, the race being overhyped, the rain never turning up, lack of attrition and the race just generally feeling like being brought back down to earth again after the thriller at Melbourne.

For me i almost stopped watching F1 when Schumi was dominating. I respect what he was doing but it made F1 as exciting as watching paint dry. The best thing that can happen to F1 is that the gap that exists between Mclaren, Ferrari and the rest of the teams close and we get 5 to 6 people in with a chance at winning the title. Right now we have 2 title contenders (and maybe Massa if he gets his act together). Hopefully in 2009 Renault will be back to top form, Honda will have a decent car and BMW will have a title winning car.

So when do I get my fun? Two races and Honda still don't have any points.

Don't worry, points will come to us once we're at circuits which suit us more and Jens will haul the RA108 onto a podium at some point this year, maybe even win at a track he's good on in the wet again. And Rubens and Jens will get a 1-2 in a rain soaked Brazilian Grand Prix.

The best thing that could happen to F1 as a sport would be for Ferrari to leave it.

(whether that would be the best thing for F1 as a business is another matter...)

2004 was like watching F1 suffer a slow death, especially after such an exciting season in 2003. Whilst I follow Ferarri I won't lie and I'll admit that 2004 almost turned me off the sport. I wanted Shcumacher to have to prove himself every year he won the title and unfortunately this time it wasn't the case. The rest of the field were so far behind it was pretty embarassing to be honest. Fuelled the haters' fire.

Rubens' win in Monza was nice though
