If you plan on purchasing a HD recorder whatever you do don't get the Polaroid brand.

1. Loud as a small airplane.
2. The controller works better off as a beer opener.
3. Too shiny.

Polaroid, All we really knows is how to make picture cameras.

Jensonb, if you record the entire season, would you be willing to do a bit of a deal and copy all the races on to DVDs for me?

I'm planning on doing this too, got a samsung HDD+DVD recorder. It doesn't record some programs with copy protection so hopefully the ITV F1 coverage doesn't have that. I'm going to do some editing of the recordings on the PC too so anyone got any suggestions of what to do about the ad breaks as it might be a bit strange to have 3 mins just chopped out?

Cool, no copy protection on the coverage. Playing around with editing software now to see what I can get on a disc. Just kept in the F1 logo ad thing before it goes to the ad break which fades back to the race (without 'can I play with madness') which works pretty well.

Well, I've been trying out different settings and stuff and found that standard play gives fairly decent quality and long play doesn't, with standard play I can't fit the race and quali onto a single disc (4.7Gb) but I think that standard play for the race and long play for the quali would fit but my software won't let me do that. Anyone know of any (preferably free) DVD authoring software that would?

Alcohol 120% might. I don't remember as it's been a while since I've used it. I'll try running it in Wine and if it works I'll let you know. :)

Edit: Apparently not. But I can't say for sure - that installation was dodgy at best. Half of the features wouldn't work.

Now that F1 is coming back to the BBC I'll be making nice digital recordings, converting them to AVI and putting them up on the p2p networks. I recently ripped the 2007 DVD and put in on the edonkey network, it's been very popular.

Can I burn the season to dvd and if so would be so kind as to give me a link?

Thank's mate,
Gregg

It's the review dvd of the 2007 season, just search for deMuRe and Formula One 2007 anywhere on the edonkey network and you can download it mate.

Otherwise I'm happy to send you a copy...

(typing this in Basel on a German keyboard, they swap the y and z around, it's f*cking annoying!)
