Hello. I am planning on visiting Monaco the weekend of the GP this May. I was wondering if someone could offer any insights into the Friday practice day? I've read this is a free day, but was wondering if it was only "free" to ticket-holders (meaning to see Friday practice, you will have to have bought tickets for Thurs, Sat, or Sun). If this isn't the case, and it is really "free" to the general public, are all the grandstands open to the public as well, or is it just standing in the Rocher? I'm trying to convince my new racing-indifferent wife that the GP is a must-do on our honeymoon- a free day makes a stronger argument :)

And yes, I have read that F1 will not practice this day, just the Porsche and GP2.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

im only guessing here but i would think this free day would be for general admission ie the grandstand seats would still be out of limits. and i cant imagine the general admission viewing at monaco would be all that good.
