I read in my biggest national newspaper (link below) that Alonsos doesn't accept any longer contract than one year (though he wants a Ferrari seat for 2k9). Neither Red Bull or Renault can accept these terms, they want him for three years.

The article alsos says that Barrichello then would leave Honda for their less competitive sisterteam Super Aguri, leaving Alonso alongside with Button. Obviously Fernando had visit Toyotas fabric together with new teamchief Ross Brawn testing the seat in the forthcoming car...

What's your thought about this? If it happens, which drivers would be actual for Renault and Red Bull then? :?:

Well, I'm sure Nick said the same thing about the Ross rumours and look how that turned out...

We all recognise that Fernando is looking for a single season deal, as he's likely to be with Ferrari in 2009. Honda unofficially know they've made a mistake signing Rubens again and could punt him to Super Aguri. Honda are one of the few teams to have the cash to sign Alonso and he does bring six tenths of a second, as well as alot of agro :D

As a Honda fan I'm not sure how I'd feel about FA being in the team for only a season, quite simply what long term benefit that would bring? And would he start kicking up a fuss when Jenson out performs him?

I hope he doesn't arrive at Honda, but I think he will given the other option is Toyota/

It never takes FA long to chuck his toys out of his pram when things don't go his way, no one can deny that. So it begs the question - does the benefit of his driving ability outweigh the negative of his petulant attitude for a prospective team?

He had frequent trips off road in Canada resulting in messing his car up so much Sato was able to pass him.

Yup, and we all cheered when it happened right in front of our eyes. And on our way home, a group of Spanish Alonso fans who were constantly singing 'Alonso, Alonso' were responded to with 'Sato, Sato' and big laughter

I don't know, put both drivers in the same car and I think it would be a very close battle.

i think jenson would just get it based on his smoother driving style Alonso is aggresive on tyres which hurt his overall performance

hahahahahahaahahahahahaha

People,

Never forget that Alonso is the youngest champion in F1 history. What has button won? Renualt replaced Button and signed Alonso in 2003 and guess what Renualt became champions.

Its funny how you cant see the real picture of what happend this year. Alonso prepares the cars, Ron steals it off him and gives it to his duckling and he fails. Hhahahahahahaha

But do I agree Alonso acted like a duck because he wanted prefrential treatment which he didnt get.

Dont even compare a two time champions with Button.
Even worse is the stupid media comparing Hamilton with Senna or Schumi. How dare you compare the Greats of F1 with a rookie who had it all and failed. Pure arrogance.
I want to see Hamilton in Honda or Renualt.

But who's not to say that if Button had stayed at Renault for '05-'06 in such a high caliber car he would not have been atleast a contender for the WDC?

There is no denying that Lewis is a championship caliber driver but I agree that comparing him to past champion's is redundant and I think it add's to much pressure. Shuey, Mansell, Prost, Piquet etc etc took quite a few year's to win a WDC because they need'd that time to mature as a person/driver. Lewis will have his day, I truelly believe that.

I want to see Hammy in a Ferrari but above all I want to see him stay with high caliber, championship potential, team's. I hope he does not let the $$$ sign's cloud his judgement too which team he drive's for such as Ralph did with Toyota and vice versa.
