Not trying to ressurect the whole debate here, but im not very technically minded and theres something I've been wondering. Since the evidence against Mac was largely based on emails, is it possible to fake when and where an email was sent? The wording of DLR's email to Alonso is kinda strange: "Its from Mike Coughlan, whos very close with Nigel Stepney...He's the same guy who told us Kimi would stop on lap 18..." Seems like if the drivers knew something was illegal they'd be a bit more careful about what they say in an email.

So yeah, Im just wondering if there's a way to totally verify when an email was sent.

As long as you have the full (hidden) internet header of the email, you can pretty much tell who (what server) sent it by backtracking.

Those emails had nothing to do with the 780 page dossier that coughlan had at his home.
but McLarens punishment was based on the guess they used the technical information to their advantage, the emails do not demonstrate that, all they demonstrate was that Coughlan and Stepney were in contact with one another and that Pedro knew about it. Pedro and Coughlan have known and worked together since their Jaguar days.

Meh its over with now im tired of writing about the subject, and we have the Renault hearing soon, its getting beyond a joke!
