ING decided to take a survey, to find out who people thought was the greatest driver ever.

6. Robert Kubica
7. Kimi Raikkonen

As you can see, no place of the like Gilles Villeneuve, Juan Manuel Fangio or Nigel Mansell.
But Kubica is found in 6th some how, with a best result of 3rd, and that was once, it leaves me for one wondering how ING went about this survey.

I would think the requirement for making this list would be having at least 1 WDC.

Senna and Schumacher, yes. Hakkinen and Piquet, fair enough. Prost should be a few places higher. No Fangio, Clark et al.

I can imagine nearly the entire population of Poland will have voted for Kubica. Viewing figures were poor in Poland for F1 until last year's Hungarian GP when Kubica made his debut, now they're sky high.

Its all utterly pointless, you cannot say who was best driver ever - most of us dont even know much about drivers outside our erra - Fangio should be there - but, the point is that cars are different, tyres are very different, circuits are different so it does not compare like with like. I wonder how good M.S. would be at driving a BRM against Fangeo? We cant say. And why do we want to? Each dog has his day.
I think that we can only compare drivers who are still driving or stopped no more than 2 years ago. Even then there are vast difference from year to year. Example:- on another post there was a lot of agreement that Button will benefit from the removal of T.C.. Different circumstance siut differnt drivers / teams / designers. A driver is so dependent on the rest of the team that his greatness or otherwise is dependent on them. Best to ask 'who has the best package?'

What a crappy list. No Fangio, and Kimi - Prost below Kubica. Damn... the fact that Kubica is even there is laughable. Heidfeld beat him last year, and he isnt on this list.

if this was a poll then they must have asked a different question than the title suggests.....
