Just thought I would share with everyone that I'm about to start real estate school it's something I have wanted to do for quite sometime, get a realtor's license. The growth in my area is phenomenal and is expected to be that way for atleast the next 15+yr's. I live on the very westend of Houston, heck I used to be able to see cow's from my window, so I live in one of the highest growth area's in the state if not the nation.

Anyway I just thought I would share something positive as being un-employed at the moment suck's. My plan is to get on with a home builder and learn the rope's while still getting a weekly paycheck plus commision's. I have alway's loved real estate and I know I will do very well.

Congrats Gregg!

And once you've survived the current sub-prime mortgage crisis and graduate from Houston, you can try your luck in Vegas, the fastest growing place in the US. 5000 people move there every month!

PS,
Oh I almost forgot to add that I have a lead on some ocean-front property in Arizona that's going for next to nothing . PM me if your interested :P.

Nearly as bad as lawyers.....realtors fees are what artificially inflate the cost of housing and put people more in debt. These bar stewards force themselves into your life as the middleman and have 1 million tricks to ensure you cant sell your house without them. You can try the FISBO approach but even then they can force themselves upon you and take thousands off you.

You have to add at least $12,000 (minimum) on even the most modest of houses just to clear the realtor fees....

And don’t even get me started on all the nickel and dime’ing they like to hit you with.....

Good luck though mate, nothing against you personally - I just think Lawyers, Realtors and the UCLA (more lawyers) are the worse of the worst!

But I love you honey bunches and I am sure you will pick house sellers pockets with great remorse!

I really cannot say because it would just be speculation but a realtor I know made $90k last year and it was a slow year for him. Basically the income potential is umlimited.
