the new owners of the albert park don't want to organize the GP anymore, due to the high loss of money...so the GP of australia risks to be stripped away from the calender...a rich australian family (it seems a mafia affair 8)) proposed themselves to help the organizers...they would like to move the GP form the albert park to phillip island... hope they will keep it in the calender!

i think, the FOM or i don't know who, should make a rotation every here between Australia, Malaysia, Brazil and Japan to host the first and the last GP of the year...doing this, there will be the chance for each of these GP to attract more spectators as at this year's brazilian GP happened...

Getting a bit bored of melbourne lately. Good idea would be to make a Night race. Saves waking up early in the morning

Would be great if they moved it to Brisbane, a perfect excuse to go do some family tree research with a GP thrown in.

The Oz GP has been one of my least favourites over the past few seasons. Maybe Bernie will need to rethink some of the financial demands he makes on others as eventually we could lose the British GP, Australian to add to the American one.

Bathhurst is a great track for tin tops - cant see it working for open wheelers

Adelaide gets my vote

melbourne is a good track it just needs to be a night race to improve the viewing figures in Europe

the problem is not the number of TV spectators, but the number of the "live" spectators, who pay directly the entrance ticket..that's the reason why many circuits are full of debts...so, in my opinion, a night race, more than being a waste of money, won't help solving the problems...

the aussie's are sport mad! the stands are always full on race day the problem is the TV viewers. That's why Bernie wants to change the grand prix into a night race or move it from season opener

Melbourne is making a 34 Mil loss every year so far, its to do with the local attendance not the tv viewers.

would be like old times again Ron, i used to go all the time when it was here, first GP for me was when i was 5 :)

the V8 Supercar series here holds a round on the Adelaide Street circuit slightly modified form the F1 track, the Clipsal 500, its the biggest motorsport event in Australia making profits every year killing Melbournes F1 race. I dont think our state government would want the race back here with the 500 doing so well.
