I read that Kimi was quoted at a Ferrari end of season party saying ''he doesn't intend to be in F1 for the long haul''... this reminded me that I've heard him quoted as saying this before...

I may be crazy here, but...

What with his attitude to the more technical side of F1 and how really he is only interested in the driving side... I wonder if - now he has won the Drivers Championship - he will stay with Ferrari next season and see if he can win it again... then leave for another driving format/series such as NASCAR or DTM...

Thus leaving a seat open for Alonso in '09...

ok... I'm crazy

Shame Mika didn't hang around in DTM... I'd like to see him and Kimi thrash it out on track :)

Both in Mercedes :D

i have no doubt that Alonso will end up at Ferrari - they will be happy to give into his desires and make him the un-overtakable (by his team mate) perambulator kid from SPain

What I find strange is why would Ferrari want him after all the kaos and everyone realizing the extent FA will go too just to get his way? I would not want any driver, regardless of his talent, on my team who has FA's ethic's.

Maybe I'm missing something???

At the start of this year Alonso on his move to McLaren was talking about Senna and how he was a McLaren driver and how he followed him as a kid and how he was happy to be at Senna's team and then went on to talk about how Senna never drove for Ferrari and he wanted to emulate that.

i guess if he does go to Ferrari he will have to eat his own words!

Alonso will not team up with Kimi in 2009, the only way Ferrari will even consider Fernando for a race seat is if Kimi moves on to another team or retires.

yep...

How large a say does Lucca di Montezemolo have in things? He was spouting the wonders of Alonso recently...

What if Ross Brawn returned and wanted Alonso? eeek!

I was worried someone would say that :(

I don't really know anything about him... but he looks like a snake... I remember seeing him trying to hug MS at his last race... Michael couldn't get away quick enough!

TRY being the key word as he has already, imo, lost all hope in that happening. I feel FA has tarnished himself beyond repair with any hope's of ever coming close to MS or any of the other great driver's of F1. Yes he is the youngest F1 champion in history but I think that will be his only 'claim to fame' so to speak.
