I only started on this forum yesterday, but already I've seen so much nastiness around between Alonso's fans and Hamilton's fans... For God's sake stop it!

I personally think half the problem stems from the fact that Fernando's spanish fanbase have in the main only been watching F1 since he started to perform, i.e. for the last three, maybe four years, while Hamilton's new fans have been watching for even less time. I saw the Spanish petition with the various ways in which Hamilton was supposed to have been favoured, and 90% of it was nonsense. Stuff like Hamilton not facing straight ahead on the grid - that's been going on for years, and it's not illegal.

The other reason these two sets of fans are at each other's throats is simple - the media. The British tabloids love a story like Hamilton, and have been playing it up for all it's worth. The Spanish media have been doing much the same thing for their Champion. Do you believe everything you read in the papers? Well don't...

no nastiness, we get the good people of spain popping on here to shout silly things once on a while - all the nasty is McLaren V. Ferrari!

Yeah, but there's actually some solid justification for that...

It ISN'T jeaousy, it's simply that I have a healthy contempt for Ferrari, like any proper patriotic British F1 fan should have...

Exhibit A: For 1952 the F1 rules were changed to F2 regulations, and it JUST SO HAPPENED the only team with a competetive F2 car is Ferrari, while the V16 BRMs are suddenly outlawed and never get a chance to show what they're made of in Championship races.

Exhibit B: After the "Garagistes" of Lotus and Cooper, with their rear-mounted 2.5 litre Climax engines give Ferrari a proper spanking in 1959 and 1960, for 1961 the engine formula is changed to 1.5 litres, which Ferrari happens to have in stock.

Exhibit C: Ferrari driver Lorenzo Bandini punts Graham Hill's BRM out of the final race of 1964, allowing Surtees' Ferrari to take the title. Hill sends Bandini a book on how to learn to drive for Christmas.

Exhibit D: Several months after James Hunt wins the 1976 British Grand Prix Ferrari's behind-the-scenes politicking sees him thrown out and Lauda is awarded the win instead.

Exhibit E: in 1981 the Manufacturer teams (Ferrari, Renault, Alfa Romeo et al) boycott the South African Grand Prix. It's stripped from the Championship. In 1982 the British "Garagistes" boycott the San Marino Grand Prix. It is still counted for the Championship.

Exhibit F: Pole position for the 1990 Japanese Grand Prix is on the wrong side, giving Prost's 2nd place Ferrari the grippier side.

Exhibit G: Ferrari successfully lobby the stewards to have McLaren's manual brake steer system removed in 1998

Exhibit H: Also in 1998, Ferrari successfully lobby the FIA to have low-friction Aluminiun Berylium banned from F1 engines because Mercedes have a source of higher quality berylium than Ferrari.

Exhibit I:Ferrari are allowed to keep their win in Malaysia in 1999, despite their own admission that they have run illegal components on their car. These extra points allow them to clinch the Constructors' Championship.

Exhibit J: In mid-2006 Ferrari successfully lobby the stewards to have Renault's mass damper system banned, despite it having been paassed by the stewards as legal 18 months earlier.

Exhibit K: 2006 Italian GP qualifying - Alonso is hard-pushed to reach the line in time to start his final qualifying lap, and sector times show he is driving out of his skin on his warm-up lap. He is subsequently demoted 10 places for "holding up" Massa's Ferrari, even though the Brazilian was nowhere near him.

Exhibit L: Ferrari are allowed to start the 2007 Australian GP with a car that is illegal in two ways: firstly a mass damper system similar to the one they prevented Renault from using, and secondly an aeroelastic floor - not the first time Ferrari have illegaly incorporated aeroelasticity into their cars. With a win under their belt Ferrari remove the system and to cover for the fact that their sudden loss in form is actually because the've lost an illegal advantage they concoct a cock-and-bull story about one of their employees putting a mysterious white powder in their refueling rigs.

And on that, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I rest my case...

Ferrari fans usually are. Ferrari's philosophy has alway been, if you're losing the argument, smear.

No that’s not it at all onelapdown. Just sick of repeating my point of view over & over again so I take the sarcastic rough, it gets a reaction every time. :)

Where do you get the impression that I am losing the argument?
So your another one of those type that think's that whatever comes out of there mouth is a touch down argument or a strike out. It seems to be a McLaren fan affliction.

Don’t worry 2007 has well and truly dispelled all those McLaren myths.

If you feeled smeared by this I think you need to lighten up

Simply that you're not even engaging in an argument... It's not that I think my arguement is a "touchdown", it's just that you haven't actually proved any of my points wrong yet.

This looks like a cut and paste from the Autosport forums, this is just 1 sided dribble that I've read 1000 times from upset English F1 supporters...

Nice list onelapdown. I posted a similar one some time back that was equally ignored. I didn't realise Ferrari had been in bed with the FIA for so long :!::!:
Ferrari fans should realise that nonFerrari fans will not just shut up and forget and gesture of good intent Ferrari shoul hand back all the races and champioships they have won unfairly or with the aid of the FIA.:lol::lol: They wouldnt have much left :D
