I know there is an ongoing thread about Alonso leaving McLaren and some my whine about this being a repeat thread but I dont want to discuss his leaving here, I just want to discuss one sentance of his press release:-

"I know there have been suggestions of favouritism within the team and people say a lot of things in the heat of battle, but in the end I was always provided with an equal opportunity to win."

WHAT THE F____!!!!!!!!!

Him and his country, him and his damn government have harped on for months about how the team was bias against him. McLaren, Ron Dennis and the people of Great Britain have been labled racist by SPanish ministers.....Ferrari fans and the team itself have laughed lengthily because of Alonso's claims that McLaren are as dubious as the team from Italy.....

And finaly, when its all over he says:--

"I know there have been suggestions of favouritism within the team and people say a lot of things in the heat of battle, but in the end I was always provided with an equal opportunity to win."

All I can say is un-fahook-hin-bee-leee-va-bull!!!!!

If true I agree that’s real snake in the grass stuff. But let’s wait and see if he was misquoted just like so many others have in this ongoing saga.

But if you ask me it’s no more un-fahook-hin-bee-leee-va-bull!!!!! Than when we are asked to believe that only 2 people were involved/knew about spygate & not even a smidgen was gained directly or indirectly.

Yeh I know no one is asking

Yep, with all the misquotings in the press recently I'm waiting for a book to come out on the whole saga. I don't think Ron or Alonso is completely innocent, all I'm sure of is Ron Dennis has a lot more sway with the British Press then Alonso...

When Alonso a while back mentioned he'd talked to DC, Montoya et al about moving on from McLaren and "favouritism" in the team, there was one man who he really should have asked. That is none other than Gerhard Berger, Senna's teammate from 1990 - 1992. Would have been interesting to hear what Berger said, he only left McLaren when Senna found out first before anyone else that Honda were pulling out of F1 and Senna advised Berger that they should jump ship and Berger said he'd go back to Ferrari and would wait for Senna to join him again one day when Ferrari were more competitive.

As for Alonso, he is really talking crap now, really acting like a hypocrit.

Actually.
Alonso never once complained about McLaren favouring one driver.
The media blew everything out of proportion as usual.

Alonso left because he didn't feel he fitted in with the team.
Honestly, look back, and you will notice Alonso never complained about having an unfair disadvantage.

Alonso said that to look more favourable to people. No team principal is going to want him in their team if he causes the disruption that he caused Mclaren this year

In an interview or statement by Alonso towards the end of the season (if i can find again it i'll post it) Alonso said that at the start of the season he did get preferential treatment over Hamilton but that was less so later on.

Cap-dude, where have you been? Oh dear, oh dear... how verrry, verry "Oh dear". I believe he got the push. The guy, if such a term can be applied to invertebrates, has been moaning and whining most of the year. He has been axed, shoved, pink slipped and P45'd. Canned, told to clear his locker, told to piss off. In short... he has been sacked for being a disruptive influence, being the source of detrimental publicity and generally being a first class turd, a blemish on humanity, a boil on Ron's ars*, an ear infection, a case of dysentery.

I don't want to be harsh on him, but I think he left a lot to be desired as a team player. :)

I think we all get it Artie, your opinion of FA is eloquently, albeit redundantly stated.
