The odd of LH winning the title was like 99%. He was the one with all the support from the team, FIA (which should not have), and luck which helps him escapes many penalties, and especially a planet of countless fans. It is unacceptable for him not to win the title.

Before he throws all the supports and good things which has been given to him to win the title, down the drain at Sao Paulo, there is a countless of fans supported him, and defended him in almost all of the internet forums. Now he has let all of them down, and they (the fans) have suddenly disappear. By the way where's 'Lewisfan'.

He did not; Mclaren let him down by not pitting him sooner in China, cant blame him for the gearbox/hydraulic failure either.

let us down?????????? No he has brought enthusiasm back into British sport!! He has excelled himself in his first year!

Unacceptable he did not win?? why? hes 22 years old having had a phenominal first season, he is a winner in my eyes, there are bigger things to come for him!!

I shall not disappear, you are talking about "glory supporters" who to be truthful are best off dissapearing anyway!!

By not winning the champion does not make him a let down or useless, he has brought excitement to f1.

The whole idea that to be successful means you need to win is a load of tosh!! Its not about the winning, its about the excitement and integrity you bring to the sport. If fans disappear because he did not win the championship, they were never fans at all!!

Ignoring the team politics, Hamilton has brought back some excitement to F1 after the boring Schumacher years.

I know several mates who have started watching races again after so many seasons away. As said above, finishing 2nd in your first year ain't bad at all and I'm sure he will be a stronger driver next season.

Shame we've got to wait until March for it!

Well, given that most of your post is a load of tripe, I'm not sure what to say. If people choose to follow him, that's their prerogative and it's a welcome gesture I'm sure. However, Hamilton is racing for himself. Not for Britain or his little barmy army. Although Hamilton admits he's had a great year, nobody wanted that title more than him. Part of being a fan is you support them through thick and thin. I think I've over simplified the issue because I'm a fan of many sports teams and I, like others, pay my hard-earned money to seeing the events and don't like watching tat.

Dribble, dribble, dribble?

The odds of LH winning at the start of the season were in the region of 16/1 (hardly 99%).

If you asked anyone at the start of the season who they thought would win the first name would have been Raikonnen. There are countless fans of all drivers and teams.

Surely Alonso threw his championship hopes away by 1) faffing around at Hungaroring and 2) nerfing the wall in Japan. Surely Alonso has let his fan's down more than Hamilton's as he was reigning champion, and Lewis was merely a rookie getting to grips with the car, and speed.

I follow the sport, more than any team or driver (but hate Ferrari and therefore can't cheer on anyone that drives for them) so for me it has been a great season ruined by Mosely's stupid witch hunt.

Lewis let nobody down. The teams decision to leave him out on the balding tyres in China, in my mind cost Lewis this years WDC.

The gear box problem was just bad luck, he would be WDC if that didn't happen in Brazil.

Well between them both Saz17 and Woodchip summed up my feelings on the subject.

Here-Here! :)

Having said that I have no problem with Raikkonen winning, he's a worthy champion. It's the Ferrari bit that makes me want to hurl.
