The most desperately pathetic move I have heard for a long time. Give it up, Dennis! You got beaten on the day, the degree of a fuel was not going to make much difference. Sign off 2007 as the year that could have been and start again in 2008.

I don't think it'll really change anything, it seems they're just doing it because they can.

I agree, but that doesn't answer the question: do they have a chance?

I'm gonna have to agree, pathetic, simply pathetic. I now officially despise RD, he has made the whole '07 season a complete farce and given F1 a permanent blemish in the eye's of motorsport fan's worldwide imho.

In my opinion - no. It'd muck to much up for the FIA and cause more questions than answers. If Raikkonen, someone who is pretty popular, is stripped of the title in this fashion there'd be uproar, and the sport'll be tainted long into next season.

For me the appeal have a choice. F1 has been revitalised this year. If they accept the appeal, it'll go back to the start again.

mclaren need to take it on the chin accept the season is over kimi is champion and even if kimi lost the title to an infringement it would damage the sport and a sport that relise so much on sponsership and advertising it would do more bad than good.

The popularity. I think it's skyrocketed with this season due to a surprise campaigner. If there's an appeal and it's accepted, I think the sheer farce of the situation will see the popularity dip to pre season levels again.

what would be a result is if they punished the teams and not the drivers therfore kimi remains champion and mclarens appeal dealt with just like they had done over the spy row.

You mean, the constructors punished and not the drivers? Depends on the punishment. If they're just deducted the points from this reac, as far as I know, nothing. Williams won't lose out to Red Bull because the latter finished out of the points. BMW were safe in third.

i dont think it should be a severe as points loss maybe just a fine. i dont think the stewerds will find in favour now anyway after everything mclaren have done this season they should think there selves lucky to have been allowed to finish the season remember BAR were given a 2 race ban for a fuel tank infrigement if mclaren were given that kind of punishment for the spy row hamilton and alonso may have been further back in the drivers championship anyway
