I'm glad that kimi won because he brought a lot of people together :D . I haven't seen a lot of people agreeing on something on this forum in a long time.

I guess if Hamilton or Alonso have won, it would have made things a lot worse. It would have polarized fans even more and created more bickering that we don't need anymore.

I like your interpretation of what Kimi's win mean's to the overall good of this community and believe it's true.

Everybody respects him, even if they are MS fans who think Alonso should have gone to Ferrari, secretly they respect him and are glad he won.

My sentiments as well. Both LH and FA behavior on and off the track have forced my support toward KImi - though I'm far away from supporting Ferrari.

I was kind of rooting for Kimi at the very beginning of the season and was happy that he won the first race. I thought maybe it was another boring Ferrari walk through season though(sans MS style rule bending). Funny how Kimi seemed the grid villain as the season started, appearing not to be a team player in contrast to Massa's overt bag licking. Kimi just keeps his mouth shut and speaks on the track. Finns are cool.
Although the win and therefor the title was handed to him by massa(happens every year in every team that is in front, nothing wrong with team and teammate support after a certain point in the season since it is a team sport), I'm still pleased with his win and title. I have to say I think I'll call him the best driver in the 2007 field. He did win the most races. I should point out I'm not biased toward him.
Neither am I biased against Hamilton, but I really don't see him as all that great a driver. Good, yes, but not in the top 3. His car was best or second best, his experienced teammate developed it for him, he benefitted as much as anyone from the possible trade secret stealing in the team, and in the beginning he got points by getting podiums while others went about the business of winning. I'd even say Massa is better. Hamilton has made several mistakes(one of them today) that show he is severly handicapped in the experience department(not his fault) and is unable to handle the pressure when it counts most. He refused to obey and let Alonso by in NON COMPETITION, ruining his lap. That started it all but no one ever says anything against him. I doubt he would have shined at all in a midfield car. Having said all that I wouldn't have been upset if he won the title. In one respect, Ron should have supported Alonso from day one. It would have prevented all this mess. Furthermore I have a feeling Hamilton has already peaked. He'll become a Coulthard or a Barricello.
Alonso. I'm not defending him, but face it we really don't know what went on in the team all season. They hate him because he squealed? I thought the FIA said he had to tell them or they'd punish him because he too benefitted from the alleged paper pilfer. Why'd they do somthing to squeal about? And if LH didn't squeal, why doesn't he get penalized for benefitting? Alonso was whining that he felt ron was helping Hamilton only, not that they were not putting Hamilton back to #2. Kimi says it was common to descramble and listen to radio communication, ask opposing mechanics for setups, etc. I would have been happy to see Alonso win the title too, because he drives hard for it.
I am not for or against any of these 3 drivers.
Hamilton might get the title through yet more technicalities, and if so, then I'm happy to see him get it.
If Kimi keeps it, remember Massa gave it to him.
If Hamilton gets it, it's from a ruling about 2 midfield cars.
If Alonso had won it, it would have been from his driving(and/or lack of it on the part of other guys), inspite of a penalty or two that hampered it.
I hope my post appears as fair as I tried to make it.

Believe me when I say NO true Ferrari supporter would ever want him to go there  .

If Kimi keeps it, remember Massa gave it to him.

Please excuse my language but WTH???

Part of the reason people are happy to see Raikkonen win is because they know that if there was any justice in Formula One, he would have been champion at least once. Then, this season, he has kept his head down, said nothing, done nothing silly, and continued to plug away when the going was tough. Compare this with Alonso who was not the best driver in his championship winning years, has lost his nerve, acted dispicably, continued to whine and moan, and blame everybody for his problems but himself. Yeah, it's one less title for McLaren, however, I'll not lose any sleep knowing he's not won this season.

Kimi won this chamioship with great drives and even though his consistency sometimes faultered... he covered it by being super human at other times...

Massa helped him get this win, but Kimi deserved-ly won the championship... doesnt matter too much anyway, because had Kimi not made his great start, driven a perfect race, winning the most GPs, keeping his cool in tough situations and delivering on important races... Alonso would have won it by his own driving talent (as Madbrad said).

The season is over. Next one will be the best ever!

HI
I was hoping for a LH win, but am very pleased with KR's result, much deserved for a few years now, and with LH out of the frame KR was the only champion worthy driver still in the running, worst result would have been the whinging whining spaniard winning, so great result for Kimi :)

I would have been happy to see Alonso win it, IF he had done it the way he did the other 2.
