Now that Ferrari has renewed his contract which will give him time to improve in a stable enviroment does he have the grit and determination to be a world champion? There were race's last year where not even Michael could catch him but I am having some doubt because he tend's to get flustered very easily, albeit he is still young. Michael truelly took him under his wing and taught him alot but I think if he does not win a championship with Ferrari he will never win one unless he goes to another top team such as McLaren, William's or BMW?

:D HA! Well he certainly has to be in one of the top teams to win as does anyone  I know what you mean though. I like Massa. he seems a fair and fast racer. Id like to see him do well. :D

Massa will be overshadowed by his current team-mate and if Kimi establish's himself next year, will be forced to play the whipping boy as he did for Schumacher. That is the price to pay when you are 2nd tier in a Ferrari.

Nothing against the guy, but he does look most comfortable when being the stooge!

Next year will be very interesting for Massa no doubt. I also believe that Kimi has established himself this year with his "no hold's barred" driving but he was also brought into the team as the driver to replace Schumacher thus Massa's 2nd tier position too Kimi.

I believe Massa has the potential but will it ever be fully recognized and supported within the team or within himself?

I think Massa's got what it takes, maybe next year will be his year and he will out-do Kimi.

I hope he does become a WDC...as then it'll be good to see him as a champion...

Well, if you look at quali this year.
Massa has already out done Kimi. I swear, i added up who won between them in quali.
I think it was somthing like Massa 9 Kimi 7
That includeds the 2 times Massa broke down in quali.

Only next year will tell, but Massa is contracted longer than Kimi, and my prediction is Kimi will leave once his contract is up. So Massa would be without Kimi in 2010 with a hell of a lot of experience

Given that driver start karting younger than before and that Formula One cars are easier to drive than ever before, most drivers are reasonably fast nowadays. Therefore, a driver in a good car can easily go off into the distance from pole position. Talent shows in exceptional circumstances, like in the wet, being well down the pack and working your way up the field. All things which Massa doesn't do very well. Yes, he's a nice guy and yes he's improved a lot since Schumacher took him under his wing, however, he does not have the same level of natural talent as Rosberg, Kubica, Vettel and other young drivers. When Raikkonen is on top form, Massa will never get close.

What about the other times he has failed to do it? Besides, it doesn't change my general point that there are people more gifted than he is.

It may depend on who will cope better with the loss of traction control...

I just looked at the season's results. Had FM played second fiddle on a consistent basis, he could have gifted his position directly to KR in two races, Indy and Istanbul. A net gain of 3 points for KR. Hm, KR is 3 points behind FA, hm, interesting. Don't you guys think that Ferrari now in hindsight (or especially after the Brazilian GP) might have some second thoughts about their equal status policy of this year?

Massa is a great driver, but I think Kimi will overshadow him. Having said that, he has had a lot of bad luck this season.

yeah, I agree Kimi looks better. He did have bad start which maybe can be explained with changing team, car and tires, but at the end he did emerge on the top. I expect next year Kimi will be kicking... from the start. I'm not saying he is faster than Massa by default, but to me he seems more consistent driver.

Massa is the luckiest driver in the history of F1.

^^Really
Thats why the year he could of taken the WDC he had 3 engine probelms, pit team forgetting to fill his car, suspension failing close to a potenial win at Monza, and tyre probelms after a potenial won in Germany.

While the other 3 have had a near faultless year
