Except that Ron Dennis used FA's car to hold up LH, so FA was guilty of impeding another competitor, which is in violation of some sporting reg, so they had no choice but to impose a penalty on FA.

I think it was a unilateral decision by Alonso to impede Hamilton. I don't believe for one minute any of the crap about Hamilton and Alonso making up. I believe that the press release stating that the radio communication between Dennis and Hamilton was falsely reported is bullsh*t remedial spin doctoring. Hamilton and Alonso are going to continue at McLaren in bitter rivalry and Hamilton is not going to sacrifice his trophy cabinet for either Dennis or Alonso. In the long run Dennis will not be all that upset to see his drivers one and two in the final shakeout... a manager's dream.

Balestre also stuck his nose in the Senna/Prost feud and came out and said he preferred Alain Prost, this led Senna to believe he was cheated of the 1989 title by Balestre when he was DQ'd at Suzuka after his crash with Prost but then got going again for "missing the chicane" but Senna was in a dangerous position at the same time which can sometimes be used as an exception.

In Senna's biography, it also mentions after Senna's accusations of Balestre being biased, he almost wasn't allowed to start the 1990 and McLaren were prepared to put Dr Jonathan Palmer in his place instead if Senna was denied his superlicense by the FIA.

And then after winning his 3rd and last title at Suzuka in 1991, the same race where Max Moseley became FIA President, Senna still said Balestre cost him the 1989 title.
