I voted Grosjean: maybe not the most exciting driver today, but it was impressive how he kept his calm and managed drivers behind him (w/o coaching!) in the face of achieving a sizable points haul in Haas' maiden race.

Grosjean for me as well. He did an excellent job for Haas scoring points in their very first outing.

Yup, Grosjean for me as well, a sixth place finish (even if Romain didn't know where he finished) is a solid result on debut for a brand new team. Although you have to give the assist to Ferrari for the extensive help in developing the Haas F1 car; Haas are kinda a Ferrari baby team, if Manor has extensive help from say Mercedes, they'd be up there too.

Romain Grosjean has won F1's first official Driver of the Day fan vote for his sixth-place finish on Haas' debut at the Australian Grand Prix.

Grosjean, who started 19th, turned in a superb performance -- one aided by the red flag on lap 18 -- and stayed calm under pressure from Nico Hulkenberg and Valtteri Bottas in the closing laps. The red flag and restart effectively handed Grosjean a free pit stop, giving Haas the chance to bolt on a set of medium tyres to go to the end of the race but the subsequent drive showed exactly why the French driver is rated so highly within his new team.

The Driver of the Day award was introduced ahead of this season to increase interaction with fans, although it was called a "pointless exercise" by Lewis Hamilton. The official F1 website did not reveal a vote count, noting: "In the interests of fairness, multiple votes identified as originating from the same source were not counted".
