read in a mag an article on the pressure kimi is under at ferrari. the usual stuff but also said expectations by team and tifosi to fill schumachers shoes. i do wonder if this is really a factor?

I think if it was anyone else then it might be, but Kimi just seems to let it pass him by. I can't help having Schumacher there nearly all the time either though.

I agree, I don't think Kimi is one for emotional responses.

But it can't be easy with their former 'God' lurking in the wings. That, coupled with the fact that Massa is ready and eager to learn from the aforementioned 'God' could very easily push Kimi down the popularity list at Ferrari.

Afterall, Kimi's already (allegedly) been slated publically by Luca di Montezemolo.

Kimi speaks on the track. In the last two races he dispatched the field handily. Sems he's a master of pit strategy. Better so than Massa anyway. I don't think Ferrari regretting hiring Kimi.

Kimi may be a rather cool customer, but he's not immune to pressure, he just doesn't show it. But I certainly think he'd have a few more points if MS wasn't hanging around so much.

Kimi did well in the practice sessions at the Nurburgring today, whereas it sounds like the pressure *might* be getting to Hamilton a little.

I think one of the things about Kimi is that he needs a car that works and works well. He's not great at driving around problems and seems to get almost dispondent if things are working right. However, right now the car seems to be in a bit of a purple patch so Kimi will be hard to beat.

I'm not sure Hamilton is feeling the pressure (yet). First in today's first free practice and second in the second session. The boy's still on it!

Yup, can't think Kimi gives a damn about Schumacher to be honest. I sometimes wonder whether he's only there for the thrill.

Yeah I agree with Stephen. F1 drivers become adicted to the thrill of the pitlane, if Schumi can't drive he'll hang about and do whatever keeps him close to the action.

I wonder if we can make a list of drivers and why they're in the sport, it could go something like this:

a. Pure Thrill Seeker (Raikkonen, Alonso?)
b. Money Grabber (Ralf Schumacher?)
c. Addicted to Victory Lane (Hamilton, Massa)
d. General sunday driver or relation of someone who was once good...(Trulli, Rosberg)
e. Walking Sponsorship Money (Dinis?)
