Damn, why does everyone give Massa such a hard time? He's had a couple of bad races, but mainly he has had awsome races. He is also amazing for qualifying. He is just a very open person. You can always tell what he is feeling, wether he is happy on the podium, or dissapointed.

1 Massa
2 Raikkonen
3 Hamilton
4 Alonso
5 Kubica(its amazing how he crashed in Montreal and is back racing and beating his team mate)

I think some of you are missing the point. If you are gonna do a top 5 driver of this season so far, its easy, just look at the points standing. Racing is all about numbers and the numbers translate down to points. Points don't lie, if you cross the finish line first then you are in first, second then second, drivers (& fans) will make excuses why they didn't beat the guy in front, point is at the end of the day, whatever place you finished is what you accomplished. I am suprised to see some of you placed Fisichella and Nico in front of Heidfeld. Racing and having a winning season is all about longevity, being consistent throughout the whole season. So far Hamilton (70pts) is the most consistent driver, then Alsonso (58), Kimi (52), Massa (51), and Heidfeld (33). The next nearest driver to Nick is 11 points down (Kubica) with Fisi 16 points behind Nick.

It's favourite drivers though, not the best. You're right about who's the best though, just look at the standings.

I would agree, except all teams use different cars, have different levels of performance/handling/reliability.

In 2001 Alonso drove for Minardi, he had no points that season and finished 23rd, but did his position recognise is considerable talent? No, and after a year away from the sport, returned to Renault for 2003, winning the championship back to back two years later.

The same can be said for Raikkonen at Sauber Petronas in 2001, his 10th place in the championship still secured him a drive with McLaren in 2002.

The top five drivers in my book:
Raikkonen
Hamilton
Alonso - whose under immense pressure at the moment with McLaren.
Massa
Heidfeld

A special mention should go to Button for continuing to struggle on, DC for his performance in Spain, Sato and Davidson and of course Kubica.
