I have followed Lewis's career since I first saw him on British TV.
This was on the ITV F1 coverage at Monaco 2006.
I have this race on DVD and I guess everyone remembers it for the qualifying incident...... :D

During the race build up, Lewis was interviewed and this was the first time thay most of us saw the current 2 time world champion. I remember Lewis has a lot of hair back then. :P

I then started recording, on to DVD, all the F1 weekends starting from Melbourne 2007.
Lewis was an absolute star from the beginning.

This season I have been recording all the weekends in HD and am happy I did. (smart TV with freeview HD and a hard drive is what is needed. The files can then be copied off this drive and on to an archive drive. 4GB per hour though).....
(avidemux is a good program to download for HD file editing etc)

Anyway, the point of this post is that imo, Lewis Hamilton is one of the best drivers on the grid and has been since 2007.
Only Alonso is near his equal, but I remember 2007 and the rookie Lewis almost taking him apart. It was watching that rookie year that many could see that Lewis was exceptional.

Will Lewis win the drivers championship in 2015??

I will be putting a bet on that he will. I won my bet this year. :D

I've watched him from 2006 too f1 boy. Phenomenal driver! Roller coaster ride from 2006 to now, but worth every penny!

good boy, that f1boy!

I have an outlandish bet that says he retires with 8 WDCS, yes 8 - eight, ocho, double quad. If anything its entertaining calling up the same guys, pretending to be someone else and see how steep the slope becomes as they shorten the odds each time.

Its a bit of wishful thinking, a bit of entertainment and a small price but it is based on sound logic and careful analysis of the current and likely near future states of F1.

Suffice to say I believe he will get his third on the last year of his current Merc deal, this will guarantee him the best seat available for the next contract, say for 3 years (I heard Merc want 5, which would work for them, but Lewis would be mad to do this) - so say he signs with Merc for another 3 years, then the chances are very high that he wins each of those years provided Merc remain top 2 - which is almost certain. Nico will have become the de facto number 2, and Merc would have had to pay top dollar for Lewis, meaning his contract terms are bound to also be more favourably geared towards him winning each WDC. Also the chances are that Nico will leave for a team where he can be the top bananna. We all know that 2 top dogs in a team is only for the first year or 2 before 1 of them accepts his place or leaves. Merc wont get anyone as able to challenge - why should they and where would they find him? They will get someone who fits with their business aims - so the 3 years of his second Merc contract will be easier than the first 3 years. Which of course will automatically make him the guy with the choice at the end of that 3 yr stint. He will own the best seat available at that time and will go on a 2 yr or maybe even 3yr contract and wil win those 2 because he has the best car and is the highest paid driver ever - And Alonso will be retired, Ricc Bottas hopefully Bianchi, maybe Verslappen, and whoever RBRs latest 10 year old boy wonder can be as good as they like but they aint gonna have any WDCS or the catchement of the guy with all the WDCS and so a self perpetuating cycle continues

Exactly the same that would have happened with Senna, same that happened with MS, same that should have happened with Alonso except he got emo at McLaren and then picked the wrong team when he was the chooser just as Seb has as well

Lewis is at the perfect time slot, he has a head start - therefore 8 WDCS is not actuall outlandish, although of course to the h8rz it will be all hysteria and indignation that someone could think Lewis is 8x better than Button or whoever. But the bottom line is - this is how the system works, winner takes all and the losers find new things every fortnight to complain about and moan and b!tch about
