It doesn’t feel like 60 years

Austin, 31 October –

Ferrari reaches an important landmark this weekend, as it’s sixty years since its cars first went on sale in America, currently the company’s biggest market in commercial terms. To mark the occasion, on what is a very busy weekend in terms of special events for the team, in collaboration with Puma, the Scuderia Ferrari drivers will wear firesuits that celebrate this important anniversary. The team members will also be wearing limited edition Oakley sunglasses, in a further tribute to this exceptional anniversary.

The guys look mighty cute in their firesuits and sunglasses!!

So... Marchionne intends to stay faithful to Mr. Ferrari's philosophy of not over-saturating the market!!

It's also interesting that the UK is Ferrari's second largest market, after China!!

Ferrari boss: F1 Engine development loophole is already a victory, we hope others will follow

...When he ousted Montezemolo, there were suggestions that Marchionne wanted to increase production of the road cars.

Ferrari currently sells just over 7,000 cars a year, production being capped at that level by the previous chairman Luca di Montezemolo. Marchionne says that it is “technically possible” to make 10,000 cars a year but added that he is mindful of Enzo Ferrari’s mantra that one should aim to sell “one less car than the market demands”.

However sales of Ferraris in China have not continued their previous growth, as the country’s growth has slowed economically in the last year. Sales in the USA remain very strong and the UK is now the marque’s second largest market.
