I say most of you all have heard the foiled terrorist attacks in London and the car bomb in Glasgow. Because of this, Silverstone is going to up the security at Silverstone of the off chance that something might happen. This is a bit of a catch 22. It's great that the place would be on high alert of any suspicious behaviour but it might just draw attention and become the top target for another attack.

If I read the paper next Monday to find dozens dead at Silverstone...well i really hope it doesn't come true.

I wouldn't worry about it, the same could have been said for Indianapolis after 9/11 etc etc. Plus if security's that tight then any stupid terrorists probably wouldn't dare.

Besides, worrying about it is what these terrorists want and I usually just get fed up of hearing about them.

i don't think they would attack on Silverstone, a GP is not so well known in the world and an attack wouldn't have so much impact, as for example on a football match in a stadium...

I agree totally, plus there may be 90000 people there, but where to blow something up? those people are spread around a 3 mile race track, true they could cause problems on a worldwide stage, but better to do a major football international or olympics, more people in one place

A lot of F1's money comes from Arabs or Arabic money, they will leave F1 alone.

Also wouldn't cause enough disruption - most of the population won't care if the track is damaged as it won't affect or inconvenience them. Last year and this years incidents have caused loads of disruption and inconvenience therefore it becomes something people talk about and remember.

Think beyond the crummy old Silverstone GP!
If there was an attack there, it would reverberate throughout the world and have a severe impact on attendance at any following F1 race - BE would be very unhappy about the missing $$$ (or £££ for you Brits :) )

Can you imagine a bomb going off and LH being hurled through the air by it all the while the cameras broadcast the events live throughout the world - remember, F1 is the third most viewed sports event after Olympics and the Soccer World Cup.
