A good read here by an F1 blogger Will the journo about the state of F1 , and the fact that the teams must bear a large responsibility for it. Lack of testing, ugly noses etc etc

Thanks, RC!! Very interesting read!! Two things I would like
to comment on.

Buxton provided facts/figures about testing, "then and now".
He seems to suggest that limitation of testing has provided
a situation where the media "pounces" on anything/everything
because of how little time there is allowed for testing!

Also calls the teams "hypocritical" for complaining about the
rules/regulations because they were part of the process of
writing them.

There is more chance they will extend it to 3 races than remove it

Which is SOOOO unfair! it harshly penalises the teams who got the rule changes correct right from the off, and hugely favours those playing catch up and copy. :banghead:

This is just the opener, I am sure Bernies long game will be whichever circuit pays the most will get more points awarded

Sooner he clears off the better...we need a sane and sensible person running the show...someone who is not afraid to call shots for the good of the company(f1) . Who values f1 for what if is....car racing and the pinnacle of Motorsport rather than want to turn it into a circus that just makes money. And who is not corrupt, who bases decisions on the best choice available rather than who has cut the best deal with him. Ross........you listenin' man!

I sense a bit of a war between Bernie and Luca - could be interesting. Luca says he's against double points and that Bernie should go. Bernie says the double points are because Luca's team can't perform... I feel a horse whisperer column coming. :hehe:

I remember posing a question on here to the tifosi some time ago, along the lines of wether they would be happy to start the season with a points lead.
This is a most elegant way of trying to implement that - well done Monte, this way the tifosi can act outraged like everyone else

However, Ecclestone has told F1 business journalist Christian Sylt this week that the 'double points' concept was designed specifically to help the sport's most famous team.
"He (Montezemolo) was talking about it and I said 'It is very simple why we got that (double points rule)'," Ecclestone is quoted by City A.M.
"'It is because you (Ferrari) aren't performing'," the 83-year-old recalled telling Montezemolo.
"'If you were doing what you should be doing there wouldn't be any need for it'. He (Montezemolo) said 'I know, I know'," Ecclestone added.

Well, to be fair to Luca he is on record as saying he was against the double points. And if you read Bernie's quote it is very carefully done to lead you to the conclusion you've made without actually confirming it. What Bernie says is the double points was created because Red Bull were too good and no-one could catch them and then he said that Ferrari weren't good enough. Luca agrees, but Luca was agreeing to the fact that Ferrari weren't good enough, not to the double points idea.

Bernie is crafty and Luca should ignore this, but I somehow think Luca will take the bait.

There has definitely been some warfare between the 2. Ever since Monte turned on Bernie, 'biting the hand that feeds Ferrari'
I would say it was pretty foolish to publically attack Bernies financial distributions when he had been keeping a secret of the special payouts and vetos - Bernie said it showed Ferrari are not too bright
Red Bull were the biggest gainer, I cant see what Ferrari have gained, only what they have lost

The threat of breaking away has disappeared as Bernie bribed them to kill Fota, and now Ferrari are unable to win anything without the help of Bernie - as he seems to now be making a point of telling us

Last years tyre test was pretty pathetic Im sure even the more sensible tifosi would agree. Ferrari protested Merc Pirelli 'safety test' along with RBR, basically screwing themselves and Merc and handing the title to RBR. That was not the teams greatest Einstein moment so far
