Have you read the latest bit of rubbish by Mad Max?

He's saying that if the CONSTRUCTORS don't agree to a single common chassis from 2011 then he will reintroduce Flexi wings.

I read that this way: Ron, if you don't back me, I will make Ferrari competitive again by allowing them their flexi bits.

But let's go a bit further back. Wasn't the reason the FIA banned flexi wings, flexi skirts, flexi bottoms etc because they said they were unsafe?

And Max wonders why we all think he's a laughing stock.

I'm not sure it's about safety when they banned flexi bits - it's about competition, moaning teams, advantages and ultimately $$$.

single common chassis??!!! NO WAY!! That is NOT why F1 is called "Formula One". Stupid Max!!

this is not the way to solve the problems in the modern F1... the common chassis has never been in the spirit of this sport, and so i'm completely against it. the problem is the fact that it has been reached a level of perfection in aerodynamics, engine, etc... that ruins all the show, by eliminating, for example, the drag effect or unexpected engine brakes, and most of all we have too much electronics..today there are machines that can calculate the Cx of a car, so they just need to eliminate all those stupid wings...stupid max...i hope his successor will be more clever than him!!!

McLaren is winning, why do you continue to subscribe to these conspiracy theories?

Aren't they put in reserve for when Ferrari is doing well?

Mrs Madbrad hopes they allow the flexi wings soon. When we went to the race last year they made her leave her maxi pads at the gate.

If you read the article concerned you will see that it is just Max using his blackmail tactics again. Nothing unusual.

At the start of this season Ferrari were ahead. Then, following pressure from various teams, not least of all Mc Laren, the FIA tightened up the flexi undertrays and suddenly things changed.

Now Max is threatening that if Ron doesn't agree to his single chassis theory - which incidentally is the daftest thing I've ever heard in 43 years following Formula 1, he will allow flexi bits again, meaning he will give Ferrari back their advantage. He behaves like a little kid.

Of course all this is a throw back from the days when he was a director at MARCH and Mc Laren were pissing over them. He still can't stomach it.

As much as I love Ron Dennis ( ), I hope he wins this pathetic fist fight. I have always maintained that F1 should be about innovation, such measures will just accentuate the existing overtaking issues - everyone with the same car, but highly affective aerodynamics, as good as keeping the car stuck to the road as keeping everyone else behind it!

And threatening to bring back aero-kit that IS dangerous (we've seen rear wings fall off at 180mph before and they've been fixed) just to force a team into complying is just wrong. Max's retirement is long overdue.

He doesn't really want common chassis, he's just exaggerating so the teams agree to a less extreme version of his terms i.e. more standard aero.

He's a professional lawyer. Ask for 50 and you'll get 25. So if you want your 50 ask for 100.

Lawyer's logic. :roll::roll::roll:

I would actually be quite excited if flexi wings were allowed. Yeah, it would be dangerous with Sato around but it'd remove a lot of the little aero bits that prevent overtaking.

At least Max is thinking of something different to reduce costs. All his measures so far have done nothing to reduce costs, if anything they've made things more expensive. I realise the big problem is a team will always spend whatever money they can get their hands on, the real challenge will be to make the things that give you big speed advantages nice and cheap.

If the teams want to spend hundreds of millions, let them, but somehow make it so they spend this money on something that will give them small gains, so that guys like Williams, who are good at building a fast motor car can still be competetive with their knowledge and experience.

Except for Toyota, Max and Bernie have created an environment where the more money you spend the more speed you will have. It's almost like you can purchase F1 success.

No fun, no romance, no variables....Boring and sterile...
