First-time visitor to Hungary - any advice?

Postby BobbyMcM »

Hi, I'm new here!

My wife and I are off to the Hungaroring for our first Grand Prix visit this year. We're very excited! However, does anyone have any valuable advice for us to know about (such as best way to get there, options for radio/commentary access, etc etc). We are currently clueless so every little helps!

Thanks!

Hi Bobby and welcome to the madhouse!

Are you natively from Hungary/speak hungarian or visiting from another country; if you can speak Hungarian I am sure you can find radio commentary frequencies online a bit closer to the event.

Hi, we're native to the UK, and I'd heard that a lot of races offer some kind of internal access to commentary in English that you can hire from the racetrack. Is this not the case in Hungary? I'd be surprised if Bernie would let a circuit host a race without offering some kind of English commentary access...

Welcome. I did not find any problem with prostitution when I went a few years ago. I found them quite accommodating

 Get a prostitute to be your translator. My advice would be to tell your wife she's a translator!

To be fair I am somewhat ignorant to geography and all I know about the place is what my hungarian dentist said. Hungary is a landlocked country.

And despite the odd title of this site,....' Christian Horner fan club' :yikes: which should immediately se alarm bells ringing!!! There looks to be useful travel info

Well I feel enlightened now! Oh, no, wait, not enlightened. Amused is more like it, but I'm none the wiser really! Thanks everyone!

To be honest, I was more scared by the prospect of meeting some 'Hornerettes' than I was in reading anything else on that site, but those links looked useful so thankyou.

Still unsure about the availability of English commentary, though - FanVision aren't supplying F1 anymore, are they?
