I post this, yet I'm already anxiously awaiting the return of Porsche into LMP1 next year. I think once again the Audi juggernaut will be difficult to defeat, but I'm actually more excited about the GTE pro and amateur classes with a good mix of cars and drivers I get to see here in the American Le Mans series.

2013 Le Mans Start List

Looking forward to a weekend of grilling something on the BBQ, drinking beer and oh yeah, I've got an autocross myself on Sunday. :driving:

Now you've made me all jealous. I'd love to get involved in some motorsports but it's tricky and pricey :(

Sad sad news! Allan Simonsen has succumbed to injuries from a crash and died in hospital. Early reports said he was conscious and talking to doctors as he was transferred to hospital. Don't know what his injuries were. RIP :(

I'm not sure, either. Watching onboard from the car behind, it seems he just ran a little too wide onto the kerb, got on the power and lost control. Must have hit the barrier with some force, too. That's the second motorsport death I've heard of today.

RIP. :(

It's been suggested he hit a barrier where it was against a tree so there was no give in the barrier. :(

Rip....I was shocked when I heard the news because the commentators were saying earlier that he's conscious in the hospital...

RIP Allan Simonsen and condolences to his young partner and daughter - very sad.

Great effort from Audi and Tom Kristensen but also nice to see Toyota push them all the way. Especially good to see Allan Davidson back behind the wheel after his horor accident here last year.

That new Porsche RSR looked fast and so strong all race in both the Pro and AM GT's. Finally a 911 with paddle shift :)
