What do you reckon this article was written by an American who heard either a brit or a frenchy say the name of the channel and got a bit confused by accents?

It was advertised as the Chunnel when it opened. A Frenchist would call it "Le tunnel sous la Manche". :wink:

really? I've never heard it called the Chunnel, it just sounds wrong.
