So. Blackberry 10 Launch today.

Anyone think it will turn around RIMs decline, or will it be the saviour of the company? Or do none of you care?

The fork has been in it for two years now. Enterprise customers are fleeing the BES environment and it's all about apps which RIM has failed to deliver on.

All that being said, I did ask for them to send me a test device. You know, for nostalgic reasons.

my mate runs his business on the move. He is a field engineer, he always had a blackberry because of it's business emails etc... After seeing the sort of stuff that people are doing on non-RIM jobs he now has a Samsung Galaxy 3. After a week was happy to tell anyone who would listen that he had wasted years on Blackberries.

Is Blackberries correct, as the company is Blackberry?!?!!

I guess the problem is that Blackberry has stood still while everyone else moved on... I think that Android and iOS have cornered the market with Microsoft coming in a distant third!

I don't believe you can pluralize company names, I'd express it as Blackberry's!

I heard someone on the radio talking about this today when I was driving to work. One thing it has sounds like a good idea. You know how you get messages from all over the place, emails, texts, Facebook messages, twitters; well on that new blackberry they all go into one box. That seems like a good idea.
But now Ive thought of how it would be a bad idea, I often have hundreds of messages in my text inbox and email inbox, and lots of the email ones are crap things, so I might lose the interesting ones amongst the crap. So now I don't know. What's a rim?

A lot of android apps do that. HTC Sense did it rather well. However if you get a lot of spam mail if got annoying.

Depends how it sorts them out, I hated the old phones that just had all text messages from everyone in one list.

What's a rim?

In Andrews case I think it's the edge of the toilet bowl.

I would agree apart from I wouldn't put the apostrophe in. I'd say BlackBerrys.

In 2000, I had my first data capable device. It had T9 text input so you used the numeric pad to type letters, it had three lines of text on the display about 24 characters per line and a stubby (rib poker) antenna. It cost a potential customer that wanted to buy it 500 dollars at the time and we sold thousands of them with private network IP solutions using CDPD, that was basically an early cousin to GSM data and it supported a blistering throughput of 14.9 kbps.

And if you were a top data dog, you could but a plug in keyboard. :hehe:
