:hehe: I did wonder about that.

It's just going to stay as a model correct? Is he actually going to power it? Surely an F1 engine is out of his talent depth (which is very deep!) and driving it around on public roads is surely a no no even if he dumps in a 2JZ or some other powerplant.

As the article says.....

His car, while far from perfect, is coming along fantastically, but it's missing one crucial element: the 600hp V10 engine that powered the BAR his vehicle is inspired by. Barring a miracle, he'll have to settle for something a little less bonkers. “I’ll probably go for a Formula Renault 3.5-liter engine,” Thomas says. “That will be plenty fast enough to scare the living daylights out of me."

Cool...but is it street legal?

I very much doubt it. If a real F1 car isn't street legal, a bodged together one certainly won't be!

I assume he'll use it as a track day car.

Although very cool; it'll be tough to make road legal, given that it does not have lights, indicators, road tyres and that's just the tip of the iceberg but great effort from the guy!

Good on him! Nice to see someone with a huge amount of passion and ability to undertake a project like that. Even if he doesn't make it road legal, how cool is to be able to say "I have an F1 car in my shed"!?
