I thought Ferrari/Pat Fry said there wasn't anything to protest?

Nothing to protest on the Kobayashi incident, this one has been picked up by onboard cameras but wasnt by the world feed. Vettel clearly uses KERS in a yellow flag zone, whether there is a green flag being waved at the pit exit is unclear, but it looks like there isnt and if not Vettel has no defence and the 20 second penalty would be the only option, therefore pushing Vettel down to 8th and losing the championship!

I didn't know that KERS couldn't be used in a yellow flag zone. I thought it was all about lap times.

You are supposed to slow down in a yellow flag zone, not use KERS to get a tow on the guy ahead, plus since DRS is banned in a Yellow flag zone, KERS would be too!

But is it disallowed? DRS is not only allowed, it's deactivated so it cannot be used so surely KERS would be the same? As I said, I thought it would all come down to a drivers lap time. Time will tell once more details are released.

What a way to "win" a championship. Good ol' Ferrari(!)

Even if they did investigate, I can't see the FiA giving Alonso a championship on a penalty. I think this will just blow over.

Interesting though.

It would be rather messy and it would detract from what has been an ok season.

Indeed.

On the other hand, if an illegal move was made, it could be equally damaging if it went untouched. Fortunately the evidence seems to be against it.

Doesnt the video clip mnmracer posted on the race thread just blow this whole thing out the water anyway? Or am I missing something?

If the green flag is being waved by the marshall at the pit exit (which seems likely) then its fine to overtake. I would have thought it would be a pretty straightforward exercise to just ask the relevant marshall what was happening.

Who the hell wants to win a championship in a courtroom?
